The age old question, "how do I get gjallarhorn?" has been spoken out of the mouths of many kinder-gardians since the release of destiny. I am here today to share some pretty eye opening news to all of you today. First off, this is not guaranteed, don't be mad if it doesn't work for you. This is simply an assumption that me and a few of my good buddies came up with after a series of un-coincidenctal events. So, this is how it started. One of my buds was much less fortunate than anyone else in our group of friends, having not picked up a single gjallarhorn since release. And quite honestly, out of everyone I knew, he was the most worthy to be blessed upon by RNGesus's most sought-after loot drop. Anyway, it was a week in which the weekly nightfall was The Shadow Thief, with the "arc burn" modifier on. At the end of his attempt, he managed to pick up an exotic auto-rifle, the Monte Carlo. After that, things went along as normal, and just like every reset day for our group, raids came after nightfall. We would always joke about my buddy not having a gjally throughout the entirety of a raid. (keep in mind I didn't have one myself at that moment) So, we started off with a VoG run. Throughout the raid up to atheon, he managed to pull only shards/energy and a raid weapon he had already received numerous times before. After destroying atheon, however, who would have known! He was blessed with a Gjallerhorn! And being it was his first one, he went absolutely insane when it popped up on the right side of his screen! Not convinced? Well, here's the story of my first gjallarhorn drop. Same Nightfall. Same modifiers as the week my buddy got his first gjally. And what do ya know, I get a Monte Carlo. All I hear my buddy in the party saying is, "Do. VoG. Today." over and over again. So, before the day was up I decided, why not just get a VoG run in before bed? I hop in and start doin work. Confluxs, shards. Oracles, shards. Templar, energy. Exotic chest? Holy mother of RNG a Gjallerhorn! At that moment I had to put down my headset as I was almost hyperventilating. I grabbed my phone and started texting my buddy about how he was right, we both got a Monte Carlo during the Shadow Thief nightfall with arc burn, and a gjallarhorn from VoG. So, finally, ANYONE reading this post that has gotten a Monte Carlo from this nightfall, I strongly encourage you to find a nice raid group to go through VoG with ON THE SAME DAY, because this hypothesis may well be 100% accurate! Is it a coincidence?? I think not!! Thought I should specify that I am only speaking through my own experience along with my buddy's, and that this isn't a confirmed method on how to get a Gjallerhorn. JUST PRAISE RNG! ~Ace
