Atheists like to claim intellectual superiority, yet when attempting to make an argument against Christianity, they always fall short. While claiming to be the pinnacle of learned men, they lose all sense of logic, context, reading comprehension, and deductive reasoning when they erroneously create arguments in opposition to Christianity. If you want to reject God, so be it, but at least do it on the basis of what the bible actually teaches and not what you read on the internet.
Read, study, understand. Leave your pride and arrogance at the door. Context is a thing and its wonderful.
Edit: Let's keep this going, guys! And thank you to all the wonderful people who stopped by and proved my point.

It goes both ways, im not religious but I respect others beliefs and views. I will not judge a person on that.
-
"Communist engaged!"
-
In all honesty a real atheist won't be having an argument over your beliefs.... Too many kids nowadays saying they're atheists just to get attention, makes the true atheists look like a bunch of idiots.

-blam!- the b8 is real

At some point in the bible, the letters "O" "P" "I" "S" "F" "G" and "T" are placed in order, with some other miscellaneous pointless letters between them.
-
Here's some fabulous logic for you THERE'S... NO... PROOF... Besides, the airplane hasn't crashed yet.
-
Drumroll please for another enlightening conversation. I do wonder how the same rotating topics continue to do so after the no doubt several thousandth spin. More importantly, why such things were alloweed to happen in the first place. Such mysteries will never be solved, no doubt.
-
Can i just make the point that the atheists you describe are the ones that do 90% of the comments in these threads. All the reasonable atheists dont bother coming here or posting.
-
Oh look, a religion vs. atheism thread. Like a haven't seen that before.
-
Mathew and John said that Jesus was given vinegar mixed with gall. Mark said it was wine mixed with myrrh. John also said he finished it. Mathew said he tasted but wouldn't finish. Mark said he didn't receive it.

So how many men in chariots did David slay? Samuel says 700 chariots. Chronicles says 7000 chariots. That's a pretty big difference.
-
I suppose I'm not actually an athiest. However I do not believe that there's a single kernel of fact in the bible. And even if what the bible says IS true, God is pretty much an asshole. Creating us with original sin and already set to fail, then saying that our sole purpose is to live our lives worshipping him and making up for the sin he made us with.
-
The problem here is that most people, regardless of their individual beliefs, look down on those who don't believe the same. I'm not exactly an atheist, basically I don't subscribe to a particular faith or a religion but I still have respect for those that do. In order to do that you have to have faith in what you believe in and that in itself is impressive to me. there is no definitive proof either way and i just don't really have faith in the "invisible man in the sky" nor do I have any faith in the claim that there is no such "man in the sky" simply because I do not know.
-
Hail Satan! Sincerely, an atheist.
-
This is hard to belive.. And where is the sense and logic in beliving in god? ""(A man in the sky)"""
-
At what point does it occur to you that if atheists look so much damn smarter, it's only because of all the time you spend making yourselves look dumb...
-
Why does the bible teach forgiveness and vengeance?
-
I'm an atheist but don't hate on ppls religion it's what you believe in maybe a god did what you religious folk say he did maybe he's not real will anyone ever live to find out? No. The only time I hate religion is when you have the super religious people like in the movie the mist..
-
Hmmm funny you mention context... Doesn't scientific research shed more light on context of our creation than a book created by monks in the Bronze Age?
-
So let's talk about Judas. Mathew 27:3-8 says he returned the silver then went to hang himself. The chief priests took the silver and bought the potter's field to bury strangers in. That field is now called The Field of Blood. Acts 1:16-19 says that judas bought the field, fell and had his intestines fall out from his midsection and thats why it's called Field of Blood. Which is correct?
-
This is not a challenge or anything. But can you name some things that atheists get wrong about the bible? I'm sure it's plenty but I'd like to know specifically what they get wrong.
-
What do you expect? This is the internet. Debates hardly go beyond ad-hominems. Real life dialogue between the religious and irreligious often go better. In fact, I find that many groups in person are nothing like their negative counterparts on the internet.
-
It's hard to take anyone seriously that believes the world was made in seven days. And when we die we all go to a floating castle in the sky!

Fastest way to get comments on thread: make it about either A.Religion B.Politics

Informed atheism isn't contingent on arguments against any one religion; it relies on the fact that there is no evidence for any deities.
