Cracking Under Pressure & Tilt

Shutting down in high stress situations is a thing of life, its a normal human reaction to circumstances that seem out of our hands. What i like to call Fight or flight which isn't always bad, but can be crippling to your critical decision making process. Throw in a bit of anger and a little sweat and your lack of decision making evolves into TILT! yes our favorite TILT. Is he here to stay or will he be gone after i bag the 23 who bagged me after a camp shotgun with 200 points... the answer is no it wont go away it will actually haunt you for hours if you let it. This is something we all experience and can all over come, But how? The trick is simple but its not easy. Heres what I've come to do when i find myself knee deep in a barrel of tilt. 1. understand your emotions and label them. (if you can confirm that the emotions are negatively affecting your play then your that much closer to fixing the problem. Avoid blaming walls, steps, teammates and opposing shotguns and find a way to blame yourself this will break bad habits and make for some major improvements.) 2. Be Grateful (For anything literally! what happens is in high stress situations our bodies release cortisol which can be damaging to our nervous system(no more drag scopes) Being grateful for things even if its just thanking the servers for not lagging has been scientifically proven to reduce cortisol by 23% thats huge and can help increase your precision 10 fold. 3. AVOID NEGATIVE NANCYS (This one we all know, but we constantly ignore it as if its going to just not affect us some how. There your friends from school, or friends from another game that bring there negativity into your social space and create what i call Friendly tilt (FLT) FLT can be worse than anything because it stays with u game after game until u just "i'm gonna get off guys" then u brood over all the negativity just to come back to it in a few hours or few days. Stop it ppl these games are for enjoyment dont bring your peers down because you cannot control your tilt asses the situation and find a positive outlet for your aggression i suggest patrol missions go meet some new guardians clear your head.) 4. Get in perspective (Reevaluate your talents and skills play back your best footage and see what u excel at this will ensue self confidence and push us in a positive direction when facing challenging situations.) 5. Last but not least Learn how to Breathe. (Improper breathing in high stress situations take valuable oxygen away from your brain which it needs in these mind melting panic scenarios. idk how many times I've found myself not even breathing when trying to clutch a game or bring my Kd up before the end of the match. its like my body goes auto pilot which can be great at times minus not breathing ofc! not breathing is the equivalent of playing when u wake up and haven't even adjusted to sunlight, it can be rough. I know i'm no Mtashed or True Vanguard, although if u can get past all my grammatical errors and read the info for what it is you will improve your game, in fact i guarantee it! if this helps even one of u beautiful space cowboys then i will be a very very happy fluoride. much love -its in your water!
