It's all ego.
Hunters have huge egos about being loners and able to do stuff without teams.
Warlocks love to brag about their studies and what they discover among the dead.
The Ahamkara saw this battle of egos firsthand. And suffered the consequence.
The Hunters and Warlocks took down everything trying to prove who was better. (Titans didn't care about the rivalry).
The Huntwrs only bragged about their kill, while the Warlocks bragged about what they found and used from their kills.
It was only when the Hunters decided to steal the Warlocks' data on the Ahamkara did they learn about the properties of the Ahamkara bones.
This is why the Hunters and Warlocks have Ahamkara pieces and Titans don't (yet, who knows what the future holds).
But it all comes down to egos.
