I agree and disagree with this post. At the same time no rpg lets you carry good equiptment from a prior expansion to the next one. It would ruin the fun of finding better loot. I feel like its been a year and i had plenty of fun with my fatebringer and ready to move on.
On the other side i respect and understand that we suffered for that gear. Raids are tough. Challenges and rng we had to face to get these. Not only that but exotics take on average a week worth of grinding bounties unless you no lifed it. So I understand the emotional connection people have torwards these weapons.
I feel bungie is in a tight spot. I propose a compromise of bringing exotics forward but letting legendarys fall. Do we really want TTK to be like HoW with nothing being worth going after. Exotics are a much bigger time investment.
Or another propostion. Exotics and legendaries have to be easier to upgrade. The less time investment you make these new weapons, the faster people can enjoy there weapons. It also means less attatchment amongst players. Currectly with your grindy model people are getting too invest in building up there weapons and when you take that away. Resentment sets in.
Trying to bring constructive criticism outside angry rant, mad, curse, hate bungie, dumb.

its not fatebringers fault they made void rocket with shank burn.....if they made good guns with good perks we would use them.... with etheric light we had chance to correct bungies stupid gun design in how...but now we have no more choice

Yes keeping all exotics at current power level ( wasn't it going to happen I know the december quote isn't saying exotics but it's how we feel again) "In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected." I don’t play much, I only have time for 1 character, although I have a brand new hunter lvl 1 hunter I want to try in pvp once, I hear the northbot and get that level boost :) Bur I love to do the raids every week with my clan, we have such fun and none of that is really from the loot, I'm choosing to spend my time with cool people. When I grind for loot I grind in the dark of night alone. Bring the exotics to current year power level please.

I read the words "grindy model" and I immediately realized you at least had a good idea of the problem at hand. Bungie is too willfully tossing aside our time investment as an issue. Casuals are left in the dust. At this point, Destiny streamers are forced to play Destiny for an entire work day, and that's not just because it's their full time job. And in some cases, it's not their actual job either. It's because if they didn't play that much daily, they would quickly fall behind the curb so fast and nobody would care for their perspective. People quickly gather to the elitist sects, because they're typically more helpful or at the very least more interesting than watching people grind for levels. But that's the biggest problem with Destiny's endgame. We spend all that time getting there, and then they basically want to keep hitting the reset button and make us do it all over again. Players are getting tired of it. Nobody wants to put up with a never-ending grind. We've spoken out for content to play, not for content that forces the grind all over again. Bungie is doing what they need to do as a company to try and keep people playing for egregious amounts of time, because that's the only hope they seem to believe they have for keeping this game alive for the life expectancy it was meant to have.

To be fair, unique HoW weapons where useless because of how Bungie decided to do 3rd row perks. This made them pretty much useless outside of POE where everything else shit on them anyways do to Fallen perks being useless, Dreg Burn? Shank Burn?! How about Servitor Stun? And the irony is that finally a giant Shank Boss that we all joked about is coming but POE guns are being left behind like all legendary weapons..
