Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

Edited by Wildcard1701: 8/21/2015 4:12:32 PMA big part of this game is not only using the weapons, but hunting them. Discovering the new exotics, using them, figuring out the hidden perks, building the best loadout for every situation, these things are much more interesting than just upgrading Gjallarhorn and using it forever. Is it a way to extend the grind? Absolutely. Does it make the grind mean something again? Absolutely. I can't tell you how bored I have been the last few months. Not because the content is stale, there's still plenty of fun stuff to do, but because if I don't use Fatebringer, Found Verdict/Black Hammer, and Gjallarhorn for pretty much all PvE activities I feel like I'm kneecapping myself. I so glad that they are giving me a reason to be excited about a purple drop again. I'm excited to try out the new and 2.0 exotics and experiment with loadouts. I will always have the memory of how the meta was in year 1. How Suros and Thorn ruled the Crucible at different points. How a seemingly average rocket launcher turned out to be a god weapon. This list goes on. Gjallarhorn is awesome, and it works exceedingly well as a boss killer, but the appeal of finding the next Gjallarhorn just seems more appropriate for a loot-centric game like Destiny and much more fun than just using the same old gear for 10 years.
