Because you can still use those weapons on what you use them for now, just not the NEW stuff. They made NEW weapons for the NEW content. You can't be upset about new content.

This game shouldn't be about change. It should be about addition. I truly believe that all content should stay relevant and the game should be growing instead of just adding and removing things. Not that VoG and Crota were ever really a challenge, but they are pointless to run at this point. Especially in TTK. It shouldn't be like that. There is a major difference between change and growth. Destiny isn't growing.
-
They are only pointless to run in your eyes. Some people might not have gotten the game when it first released, and who's to say there won't be rewards from playing the Vault of Glass or killing Crota? Year One weapons were built for Year One content. You expected to use the weapons you got immediately with grinding forever, on every boss? What fun is that?
-
Yes. I do expect to be able to use them. I expect the CHOICE of using them. How many times have they said "Destiny is about being the guardian you want.", "Doing the things you want to do." I expect choice. You obviously never played WoW. Even though I couldn't use gear from Vanilla WoW, I could transmog new gear so I still could use things I loved from the beginning. Just because you don't want to use Fatebringer for 5 years straight doesn't mean others have the same view point. There is something to be said about using a weapon or piece of gear that fits your play style just right.
-
Or that it's perks were perfect so nobody has an option. Do you not understand that you can still use your weapons? Nobody is stealing them or destroying them! You can do the same thing you have been doing for a year now, just on the new missions, they added new gear. You want to use Fatebringer on Oryx? Go ahead, I'll use a better weapon. Stop sitting in the past and don't buy TTK if its that terrible for you. Keep grinding VoG and Crota until your fingers fall off. New content means new experiences.

Edited by Kannon: 8/21/2015 1:06:48 PMYou're delusional. First, I never said it's that terrible. Second, I merely expressed my desire for choices. However, you clearly have a massive erection over Bungie and believe everything they do is perfect so there is know point in discussing this topic with you. Ps. Put more time in this game before you start to lecture me on what it means. One of my characters has more time invested than the measly two you have.
-
Put more time in this game? I'm sorry that I have other important things in my life than this game. I didn't get it on release day, so that means my opinion doesn't even make sense? You're just like the rest of the elitist fags. Have fun thinking you're better because of the time you've played.
-
I didn't get it on release day, so that means my opinion doesn't even make sense?
It doesn't because you haven't dealt with things like Forever 29.
-
Consider yourself a badass then, because you dealt with game related events.
-
Oh yeah EVERYONE uses the Suros Regime for patrol and story missions and strikes and raids right?
-
Nah I use mine in the Iron Banner it still does the job ..
-
Ah that's pretty cool. Would sure be a shame if you can't bring it to year 2 Iron Banner. I also would think you'd never use it for ToO currently correct? Well I personally used my Hardlight for ToO on occasions but guess what.....
-
Maybe now you will! They look at the percentage of players using those weapons, and now they're going to be much more appealing. If I was Bungie I'd be mad that I made a game with hundreds of weapons and people use 5 of them.
-
Why did nobody use the auto rifles i wonder? And maybe I didn't like the Suros to begin with? Maybe I liked my first exotic, Hardlight or maybe I like my Mida to be upgradable? I wouldn't mind not having a year 2 counterpart but at the very least on par with other weapons so I DONT have the option to just use them on patrol or regular crucible
-
New content comes with new weapons, players of MMOs would be thrilled to be getting new weapons. A level 34 weapon shouldn't be useful against a level 40 enemy. That wouldn't make since.
-
That's why you have an upgrade path for them. We have a spark of light that can literally bump up a character to lvl 25. I'm pretty sure we can upgrade some exotics to be on par with the new ones.
-
You can, just not all of them. People really expected Gjallahorn to be used forever? That unfair piece of machinery should have been nerfed long ago, when 99% of raids were completed with it.
