I think I would prefer that no exotics get left behind. But at the same time, for the sake of balance (in more than one way), I can still jive with the way things are going.
If Gjallarhorn carried on to year 2, we would continue to have the same problem--it being outright the top exotic (or maybe one of, with new TTK weapons). Even with the Wolfpack nerf, it would probably still be that way, and if they nerfed it harder than it seems they will, there would be... a storm.
Might as well leave it behind and let it be the god of year 1. Change is good.
