Why does everyone assume it took forever to find gjally. I found my first gjally after 500 hours, some people find it in their first 2 weeks of play. I'm at 1100 hours but I've found 5 more gjallies so drop the grind argument because there's no way to go after a particular weapon unless were talking the bounties. So while you were going through RNG, you received other items, weapons, armor, materials and the like. You received raid weapons, coveted legendaries and materials to upgrade them all. Materials that are now worth a lot of glimmer or motes of Light to further improve legendaries with perks you like.
The real reason is because Gjallys ruined challenges and prison of elders as an example is a perfectly good reason why gjally won't synch properly with year 2. All the bosses in poe have mechanics. Like qudron. A popular method for making the fight easy? Burn him with gjally . 2 gjallys and some guy with his primary can drop him to a quarter health and start the fight from there. Thats true for most of the bosses excluding skolas but we gjally the shit out of him anyway.
These bosses aren't by any means hp tanks like the original vaalus tuuarc but we use the same strats.
I'm also just bored of gjallahorn . only use it if I'm carrying people . so I'm a bit biased
