Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

Time to grow up and move on child.
-
I'm okay with it because I'm ready to move forward. Some of the exotics are coming with us to the next chapter and I'm excited to see how they've changed. The stuff that isn't coming will still have its place, so I can live with that. I've gotten every exotic to date except Queenbreaker's Bow and Dreg's Promise (-blam!-ing elder cypher refuses to drop). Some of them were an incredible grind, others I owe half my exotic shards to one weapon type (Red Death loves me). Will I miss some of them? Of course. Gjallahorn may be overpowered or overrated (depending on who you ask) but it's still a fun launcher and it's pretty neat to see 10k immunes going on 5 minutes after Crota is already kneeling (forgive the slight exaggeration). I'm still really looking forward for new and exciting ways to make aliens go boom. A rail gun? Yes please. It's time to move forward and move on. Say yes to sexy new guns, new ways to grind, and new things to explore!
-
Why not progress? It's boring staying in one place for too long.
-
I personally think that over time, they will add more and more exotics to the upgrade list.

Edited by PrOmIsEd757: 8/22/2015 6:26:49 PMPersonally I'm fine with it because I want to try out the new stuff they are offering. Gally is nice but it gets old, makes everything way to easy, and I have 8 so I'm ready to let them go. I'm sure there will be a new heavy that is just as if not more devistating than the gally. Besides you know how bungie caters to the masses next dlc it will prolly get an year 2 form any way and the forums will find a new issue to cry about
-
I'm ok with it because I'm tired of seeing the same loadouts in every PvE content I do (Fatebringer/VoC, Icebreaker/Found Verdict, and Ghorn/HoC ect.) I admit that I've done some of these before but it needs to stop with TTK
-
I'm OK with it because there will be other nice guns that we will get. I am gonna keep all of my guns in my vault like gally hardlight and nlb... plus most of the guns you will still be able to use them in crucible.
-
...MMOs do this ...Destiny has MMO elements LEARN
-
Because it will still be effective for a good portion of TTK (up to lvl 34 content) and still viable in crucible. The ramifications will be a fresh set of builds for an almost completely redesigned game and Bungie can finally start correcting the mistake of making weapons that are more effective than any other weapon could be to the point that there is no other logical choice. My biggest concern is whether the story will finally be engaging, whether there will be characters I can finally care about not whether my old weapons will hold up to new ones.

Edited by Devious_Melons: 8/21/2015 3:17:10 PMUmm vex was frozen in time and look what happened to it drops mic and leaves stage

I'm okay with it because you have to change eventually. Change isn't always bad. We want to hold into the familiar things because we're comfortable with them. New things, change, scares people. Its not comfortable, they will need to work to make it familiar to themselves again. Change is an adventure. Once you have accepted that change is part of the game, learning to adapt to new things can be fun, then people will have learned to place the gally on the mantle and embrace the bomb... I mean the change.
-
I'm okay with it, because I'm gonna find me another Rocket Launcher that exceeds the Gjallahorn, that's the truth, then again you probably can't handle the truth.
-
Dude thanks for not being a bit#h about it and i think its ok for lets say the gally being left behind is because its a new year in destiny and that means new gear and new better exotics that can wreck the gally also i dont like the gally very much because everyone thinks your a scrub enless you have one (thank god i got mine when i was lvl 30 legit) so yea thats why im ok with it.
-
More variety of weapons to choose from
-
I just play the game. Bungie can do what they want. When this game becomes something I no longer want to play. I'll stop playing and you won't hear a word out of me about it either
-
I want to be able to use other exotics like the kick ass looking ones in TTK without feeling bad because I'm doing as much damage as possible
-
New weapons, move on /thread
-
Why am I okay with it? Cause if you watched some of the TTK videos you would see weapons we could only dream about. All TTK exotics (and maybe legendaries) will be ten time better than gjallahorn. Plus there will always be that new weapon that outshines the rest.

I'm tired of Gjallarhorn, but I'm very sad for my Hard Light, it was my first exotic and favorite one and was irrelevant because of the auto rifle nerf for nearly all year one. Now that the auto rifles are going to be relevant again, it's too late for Hard Light... That's pretty lame this weapon won't ever be good for high level PvE.

Edited by Svea_Forzum: 8/22/2015 7:53:45 AM"ever again" is bs. I'm sure they will make a comeback sooner or later. Why I'm okay with it? - There will be more guns in TKK than ALL of year one combined. - It would be easy to stick with the exotics etc that we already own = new gear would be less exciting to play with and try out. - It's common for these types of "MMO ISH" games that old stuff becomes ancient relic with time. - I believe they will make a comeback eventually.
-
Using the same weapons for 10 years is a god awful idea, can't wait for new gear
-
I'm fine with it because there will be fresh meat pumped into the loot system. There are also new versions of some old exotics so they're not just going away forever.
-
Starting to treat this games as a real mmorpg. Gear will be left behind no matter if it's a exotic or not, when you reach higher levels.
-
Edited by Ujurak: 8/22/2015 7:59:04 AMI'm fine with weapons being left behind because they will be like trophies, only year 1 players will know about.
-
I'm happy to try new exotics. And if gally was still as powerful there would be no need to use anything else
