Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

#NELB! Don't take away our options! I want to necrochasm the -blam!- out of oryx
-
I bet there are bigger things in your life you can focus your energy on. Just sayin
-
Same reason I don't keep most rare gear...something better is coming.
-
I'm happy about it. New exotics to collect
-
I'm happy seeing them go for me just to grind another 100 plus hours to get their predesser
-
Year 1 guns aren't being taken away. You will still be able to play the same content with the same weapons the same way you've been doing. However, if like many of us you are tired of the old stuff, they are adding a good amount of new shit and they are rolling out a shit load of new gear to do it with. If you want the old gear so bad don't upgrade. Nobody is telling you that you can't play the same game for another year.
-
I don't really see it as problem because I'm just gonna be stubborn. If the new gear sucks (as I'm guessing it most likely will) I'm just gonna keep using my year one stuff. It may not do as much damage, but if the new stuff isn't that great then I see no real reason why I can't keep using my old gear

Move on.

-
I'm okay with the legendaries not being able to go on, but exotics just are too much.
-
Personally I've always enjoyed pvp more, but I will be sad to see them go. But I'm sure I'll find a decent replacement that comes with the taken king
-
Because there will be more guns, I don't want to play a game for 10 years that I use the same guns the whole time
-
Edited by koala68: 8/22/2015 11:59:36 PMI'm ready to move on to something new. For me, playing with the same weapons all the time is getting stale, so I just like the idea of new weapons coming into play. As far as it getting left behind, i am indifferent. I'd have been happy with it being upgraded but I'm also perfectly happy with it being left behind also. Time to get a new arsenal!
-
I just don't see why they would do it. We all worked for these things for a reason. Now they give us a good ole "-blam!- you" after saying that they "would hate for our hard earned gear to be obsolete" less than a few months ago.
-
I am fine with it being left behind cause what I've heard is that the taken king is going to be almost like a whole new game... Therefore it's expected to get whole new arsenal to use.
-
My question is why not, maybe I just have a different way of thinking but the "grind" you speak of is what I enjoy or enjoyed about this game you don't really have to do that anymore everything just gets handed out anymore Like the collecting of iron, helium and spirt bloom was fun to me now you just buy it and the guns were never really that hard to get anyway
-
So far the Gally is the only confirmed bring left behind. And i don't really mind. Out with the old, in with the new.
-
It is ridiculous but I use so many different weapons and I'm looking forward to the new ones so it doesn't really matter to me. It is strange that they bothered to buff/nerf so many exotics just to leave them behind.
-
It sucks its true especially that I just got gjallerhorn and I use fatebringer religiously but with the overhaul id have to see to make a good arguement oh and necrochasm but friggin swords and more breeds of weapons hmm I dont to be honest

When I was lvl 3 I got a Gozen-C (pretty sure that's what it's called) sniper. It was amazing. It was practically my primary then. I one shot anything red and 3 shot the majors. I loved it and never wanted to let it go. Then one day I leveled up and moved on to a further part in the story. Sadly my lvl 3 sniper was a thing of the past and all I wanted to do was get the new weapons. It was a great sniper and I loved dominating pve with it but it was no longer relevant and it was time to move on. Year one was awesome with some really fun guns that were very rewarding to use. But it's time for us to look to the future and new gear and new content! Personally I would love to use Gally to burn bosses in TTK. However, I DID THAT ALL YEAR 1! I ground for it. I used it. I'm ok with moving on. TL;DR-you got to use year 1 gear (well the stuff RNG blessed you with) for a year. Time to get some new stuff.

I was playing eso today and I had this nice set of armour,it gave loads of magicka but could I hell do this dungeon,so I had to make some different armour that looked crap to do it,I also had to change my lighting staff to something different. We did get to keep armour and guns for a whole year and still get to keep it as trophies and even still use it to an extent, for that I am grateful to bungie for this, now it's time to find new stuff and add it to the collection

Bungie Weekly Update - 12/04/2014 by DeeJ “The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."

Edited by Dark Tankbuster: 8/22/2015 6:34:53 AMBecause with leaving the old weapons behind it leaves a gap for new players and old to find there new weapon of ultimate power thus it will recuperate you into playing the game for the next best thing, This is what happens in a MMO all the time. You leave old gear for new not forgetting its greatness and thirsting to find a weapon or build that was just a powerful as the last.
-
I agree it hurts. Not so much Gally. For me it's my Hezen lord armour from vog. But I think it like a mentor told me the scale of new items is gonna make everyone in a few saying Gally what's that and what armour did I have. Only time will tell. But this is very similar to what wow did its first year activison has there hands in that game to an it made wow even better then. So I was pissed and still am but new dlc new adventures.
-
Most people xurned gally anyways and to say somebody worked so hard to get a weapon is nonsense.
-
Time to grow up and move on child.
