For people who are fine with gally ( and one year exotics) being left behind...

Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch. My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding. UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

  • Game is apparently going to continuously change. I'm personally looking forward to many new weapons. Where is there any challenge if one can just continuously upgrade GHorn all the time?

  • It's a Game? So who cares? World of Warcraft does the same thing. They need to keep this franchise kicking for another decade so why just keep bringing the same weapons with you. Why not get new weapons and new gear and all this new stuff. That is the point of an expansion, to expand and evolve. I am sad that the Gjallarhorn will be gone but I am really looking forward to what is on the horizon. Because from what I have seen they are taking Destiny from a clusterpoop of grinding to an actual game that will involve a lot of grinding.

  • I love destiny and I did I guess everything in the game (1 million time) I have full grimoire and platinum trophy. I have every weapons and armors in the game. I really want new content in the game and want to look for new great weapons. I don't want to see everyone around using again the same weapons, wearing the same armor for 10 years... Like a new game I wanna see everything new with the current awesome mechanics of the game. That's why I'm happy with their choices. And I know that if I want to reck again with my gally and any year 1 content, I can do anytime year 1 content or just regular crucible.

  • I'm fine with some of the exotic weapons being left behind. What I'm more concerned about is some of the exotic armor being left behind, as I worry this will invalidate the Original 6. For example, what if Saint - 14 isn't brought forward? Defender would take a serious step back.

    • Did you know that there are Uncommon weapons in TTK that are better than Year 1 RAID weapons?! What's that have to say about the rest of Year 2's weapons?? Hm? They will all be SO MUCH BETTER THAN YEAR 1!

    • I don't care either way. I'm sure there will be new guns that are just as good if not better than the old ones.

    • I don't understand the outrage over old gear needing to be replaced with new, better gear. Every video game based around loot, leveling up or role playing follows the idea that gear you get early (and we are very early into destiny if it's going to be a 10 year epic) need to be replaced with better gear later. This isn't new. At all. Whatsoever. No loot game has the first weapon you get be on the same tier as closer to endgame gear. Endgame in Destiny is always changing. This isn't the same year 1 game where bungie suddenly decided to hit the reset button. This is a continuation of our story and game. We need better weapons to combat oryx. Bungie isn't making old weapons useless in the same content they've been useful in. They're just leaving them where they belong, in the past. They're not making you get rid of them either. Out vaults are being doubled. That's awesome. Exotics are not end game gear. They're unique items that are for min/maxing your play style. They could have easily said all year 1 exotics won't be upgradable. Instead they're bringing some forward now with the possibility of the others coming later. Destiny is evolving and moving forward. It's time our guardians did as well.

      • With a 10 year plan for Destiny and only going into Year 2 I can't believe all the crying. It was never stated Gjally will never be upgradable in the future. End of argument there.

      • If destiny wants to leave certain gear behind that's fine by me however, if you are going to nerf or buff a certain gun before an upcoming expansion, then you should make it so that gun can progress otherwise that change was almost pointless. Necrochasm is about to get its long awaited buff. A gun which required hours upon hours to get and I'm talking about people who got the Husk of the pit before they upped its dropped rate. A gun which requires that much time to get and turns out to be bad and then finally gets a buff just so the Devs can announce that gun won't progress to the next expansion. Why. Where is the logic in that? Same goes with hard light, IB, ghorn etc Unchanged guns should be the ones that are frozen in time. Guns like truth, thunder Lord, invective, red death etc Let us experiment the new forms of these guns rather than the same old crap.

      • Who cares about pointless stuff in a video game? The point isn't to collect stuff. It's to have fun. People can have fun without old junk just the same as they could with it.

        • The constant grind, or rather, the constant quest for improvement, is the whole point. If we no longer had to strive to improve, then there'd be no satisfaction in finally being able to clear the new end game. I expected this stuff from day 1, the fact that the only way to build a decent arsenal was to ascend gear kinda bugged me honestly.

        • I agree and disagree. Some of the year 1's being left behind (gally, thorn) are undeniably OP. With them in the game, you feel obligated to use them because they're so powerful. At the same time, there are people who genuinely love those guns. It seems like they're just throwing the OP guns anyway instead of trying to balance them. I don't remember the exact quote, and I don't remember who said it so don't hold me to this, but they said, at certain points of time, certain weapons will be OP and weapons will have their time in the sun. That's the exact wrong way to balance a game. You should always strive for more competitive options.

Ummm I'm okay with exotics being left behind because I don't feel any attachments to my weapons because I know half of them I don't even care about and the ones I mainly use are being bought to year 2 and gally it took me a year to get mine or more to get mine but I feel like we need new stuff and be honest do the exotics now feel exotic anymore? Okay let me answer the main question now, for me personally I don't feel attached to any of my weapons at all like seriously except for hawk moon thats my answer but I wanna get more in depth but I'll sound like I'm stupid.
