Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

If you plan on playing destiny for even half of its 10 year plan, wouldn't you get tired of using the same weapon for 5-10 years? I understand that it was hard to get, but there will be other things that you want to grind for. Mixing up your load out makes the game feel a little more new and if we had all our weapons from year one it would take away from the experience ya know?
-
I read between the lines and I think they implied that the definition of year one level will change
-
I feel like it's time we leave it behind. It is basically a cheese and destiny is no challenge at all. I'm excited for new exotics and maybe there will be another OP rocket launcher?
-
Ever heard of exotic blueprints?
-
Because there's what 12 new exotic weapons being released with TTK, one of them was even designed specifically to replace the Gjallarhorn, so that's promising. I didn't like the though of gally being upgradable every DLC drop, essentially being the strongest weapons for the entire 10 years Bungie plans on supporting Destiny.
-
It's time to move on. Let me give you an example. You like cheeseburgers. You eat and eat and eat them every day for a year. You eventually don't find them so tasty anymore and you want something new. Get it?
-
because otherwise it would be boring. now you can chase after new guns instead of already having the best every game has this(mmo's for sure) its normal. yeah destiny is not an mmo but practicly yeah it is, its a better mmo than Most mmo's XD
-
In most MMOs and RPGs for that matter, you almost always get better gear when an expansion comes out. If you could always upgrade your old stuff, then there would be any reason to grind for new gear. Gally will still be good for Y1 content, but I'm ready for the next OP weapon.
-
I think they took the"cheap" way of nerfing them. Because people were complaining about them in the end game content
-
I don't care because new weapons will come out and there must be something from those that I like. It is actually very nice that the gear gets replaced with something new because the game gets super boring otherwise. And by the way I play destiny for just 2 or 3 months - it has gotten boring already and I WANT new weapons and armor.
-
I've had almost all of them and used almost all. I'm ready for something new.
-
I've had ghorn sense week 2 of destiny and I used the crap out of it. I think it's time for something new and that's what the TTK is bringing in my opinion.
-
Caus I didn't do anything special to achieve any of my gjallarhorns, if it stayed OP, then why would I need the new stuff? Variety is the spice of life
-
You can still use them and since the game isn't out yet, we can't be sure of anything.
-
because "evolution without courage will be the ruin of our race"
-
Because new, more powerful stuff.
-
I used the guns. I enjoyed using them. I've found my perfect weapon with the MIDA. So why would I bother using any year 2 weapon? I have what I want already. I'm glad they aren't upgradable, because I want to need to find new weapons.
-
i'm okay with them being left behind because i want to use new stuff. nuking bosses with the crutch is getting old. i ready to nuke them with a super death laser now! :D
-
Borded of the game atm, needs to change, needs to feel like a new game.
-
You need to give up that crutch..... The progession of any mmo-ish type games is with new expansions and that gear and wepons become old and then you get new gear and weapons. Its not that people are ok with it....but it is what it is bruh
-
Oh dont worry they will make a new rocket thats like gjallarhorn but different that you have to jump through hoops to achieve
-
I dont have that much of an issue with year one weapons being left behind, but what I still dont get is why bother releasing an epic update about the weapon patch when most of the guns are not gonna be on par with the new legendaries and even some blue weapons new attack value Whats the point? I dont get it. If anyone knows the reason please enlighten me :)
-
I'm happy to leave Gally behind because.... #1 it's overpowered and makes everyone use similar loadouts. #2 I'm looking forward to finding and using other heavy weapons like a sword.
-
I wanted ALL exotics to come with us
-
I just wanna keep No Land Beyond Relevant.
