For people who are fine with gally ( and one year exotics) being left behind...
Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

Bungie might just make better versions if year one exotics, like the gally they could make it look different and give it a different name then no one would care cause it would be better than the gally, as well as all of the other exotics!

I'm okay with it because it's what's to be expected in a mmo fps rpg hybrid. Mmos follow this model as do rpgs. Only thing that will bother me about this unless bungie makes an exotic that is on par damage wise as gjhallahorn is if the bosses are bullet sponges. If their going to remove it fine by me just make sure you make the enemie fights more engaging/fun than just adding health on to them. Plus the fact theirs plenty of weapons in the taken king coming out that we haven't seen I'm perfectly fine. Tried to tell this guy it's what's to be expected in a game like this but I guess he doesn't understand. He wants to be able to use his weapons situational which isn't practical in this type of game as you would horde on to a select few weapons that you would use more than others. Which leads to what reason would you have to play pve if your weapon load out you have now worked for everything in that 10 year span it would get boring and stale quick which would result to player loss. I've already seen it with our clan we used to have. Only 3 or 4 of us were heavy in to pvp the rest pve only. The pve guys haven't been on in months if that tells you anything.

Well, I had all (drop) exotics within the first 3 months. I'm excited for some new weapons. You can still use your weapons lol..

As a gally user since VOG, I am so glad that it's getting left behind. It's great that they are letting play our characters for "10 years" but I'm really sick that gally is basically a requirement on a fireteam. It's time for something new.

I am okay with Gally and other exotics being left behind because.. Destiny is just a game. Gally is just a weapon, there are other weapons, lots of other weapons, weapons that we have no knowledge of yet. Just get a grip be a good puppet.

I, personally, would love to see the game evolve to where there are always new weapons to use, and there is enough balance that everyone picks their playstyle, so instead of everyone using gjally cause its good, they use weapons they like

Well considering the vex was supposed to be "frozen time" when dark below came out I think we will all be ok. I'm sure they will make more exotics from year 1 go to year 2 stats as time goes on. But I'm probably just saying this because they didn't axe my favorite exotic, Red Death...

because its just a game, i play what they give us besides i want to try new guns. Theres always going to be a "better" gun so maybe there might be a stronger gjallarhorn who knows.

Know what you mean, all the time and effort people have put into upgrading weapons it should be our choice weather or not to dismantle because we have earned a better weapon and need the parts from the exotic to upgrade it! But hey that would of been to easy :)

Yeah sure you have new content FOR NOW...but um in two months youll realize your just grinding the same taken kings over and over again just like day one. This is kinda adding new content,but more of just replacing the old content without expanding the game itself. So in two months get ready for the SAME TTK weapons being over used again and again(wich ele ads to more crying nerf post) instead of having more variety.[spoiler]keep letting bungie ride you in circles lol[/spoiler]

Not because I can't to the activities without it, but because it was expected of me to use it and most people DEMAND that you use it. I'll admit I grinded for it, searched high a low I'll admit it felt amazing to see it drop for me at the end of a nightfall. BUT It quickly became boring, need something done? Nuke it with Gjallarhorn and move on. The game became less challenging and somewhat boring. I'm happy they're leaving it behind. I'm happy to be starting n a clean slate. As for the rest of the Exotics? I'll wait to get a full list of what can be upgraded before I say anything.

3 RepliesIf you plan on playing destiny for even half of its 10 year plan, wouldn't you get tired of using the same weapon for 5-10 years? I understand that it was hard to get, but there will be other things that you want to grind for. Mixing up your load out makes the game feel a little more new and if we had all our weapons from year one it would take away from the experience ya know?
