Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

Did they release a list of which one will not go forward? I have a buddy that will flip out if his beloved MIDA isn't going forward

You do realize that they can just come out with an upgraded version for them later. I'm looking forward to the ghorn 2.0
-
I put my time in the game, got all the exotics used the ones I wanted to use for a long enough period of time to be satisfied, and now I'm ready to move on. Separation anxiety shouldn't be this bad for weapons in a video game. I'm not a sheep. Destiny gets its playing time when I'm done with the other games I play on PC and I work a full 40 hour week. I love some of these guns, but in more interested in using the new stuff to come
-
I mean If hall got upgraded I'd just keep using it in pve. I want to try new weapons out, and see varied losdouts.
-
New game new weapons new year.... I simply want something new and not keep replying on the happy to blast away every boss in 10 seconds. I want a challenge and that is exactly what they are presenting us with
-
Because i have played other games oriented around equipment that becomes obsolete and have not only become accustomed to it but I actually enjoy the feeling of getting new equipment.
-
I think it's just the legendary weapons that are "frozen in time" exotic weapons and armor will always be upgradeable
-
I don't like that I can't upgrade some exotics, but I'm not going to complain about it, honestly, I think bungie will bring them back. And we are going to get new exotics, that might be better than our old ones.

I have the answer
Slepeer Simulant
i got my 15th gjallarhorn from the nightfall this week. i got my first gjallarhorn from the second nightfall after release and i bought 2 more from xur the first time he sold it. i never even used it until kneeling crota. it does alot of damage and speeds up boss battles but it certainly isnt a necessity like these people praise it to be.
-
Im fine with it. If destiny is really going to last 10 years, im curious to know what new, powerful exotics are coming. Yes, gjallarhorn was a pain to get for some of us, but looking at the BIG picture 6 7 8 years from now, it was a year 1 weapon.
-
Because I want new things and I want those new things to be relevant. Everyone argues why don't they just make something better than horn, but then you just get another horn. Year ones over! Let the new year begin!
-
Because gally is too powerful. How do people not -blam!-ing get this already? They made a weapon too powerful so they need to get rid of it.
-
I was always having fun when I didn't have a Ghorn. I'm sure I still will.
-
Realistically, they were all pretty easy to get. You played a video game, and were randomly rewarded something. Exotic bounties and exotic raid weapons require certain tasks that proved difficult for some, but once again you're playing a video game so still fairly easy. Time invested does not equal difficulty...
-
I'm just ready for new stuff. It's been fun with year 1 but I'm ready to try new things.
-
I didn't by a game with a 10 year road map to use the same weapons and armour for the entire life of the game.
-
I have a gjallarhorn and it was a wonderful gun. But it has become stale and boring. I want to try new and dynamic ways to kick the sh*t out of the darkness. I don't want to be using the same gjallarhorn for ten years
-
I don't entirely trust Bungie to have created a 'new Gjallarhorn' for TTK. Some of them seem cool, I like the look of that heavy fusion, but I am really not expecting any of the new weapons to have the 'wow' factor that G'horn has/had. Plus, with the new 'smart RNG' system in Year 2, it seems like new gear won't be as rare a drop as G'Horn. I was hoping that ALL legendary armour, weapons & exotics would be ascended to the new levels for TTK, even if you had to use a new material, or another etheric light. I'm also disappointing that a lot of nerfs still seem to be going ahead, when they have absolutely no reason to now. I still think Thorn and shotgun ranges need nerfing and ARs need buffing, but that's it really. The rest seems irrelevant now. I also think they should've put the level cap up to 50. Only having 6 levels to go up isn't going to take me long (unless Bungie have made those last 6 levels take 1 million XP, then 2 million etc).

For the same reason I don't have an IBM 286 on my desk? Times change homie
-
Mainly because i realise that they could of left all All exotics behind but didnt and made some year 2 versions.

Edited by Happyjoey547014: 8/21/2015 2:43:56 PMBecause using the same guns forever promotes a stale environment, the biggest problem with this game. Embrace the change. Enjoy something new.

I've played with all the old guns for a year and im ready for something new. This it what happens in games. You can keep using the weapons, they will still be effective in there own right. It's really not that big of a deal.
