People seriously. This is the issue? You won't be able to run Fatebringer, Black Hammer, and Gjallarhorn for the next several years of Destiny?
I think this is a good thing. It lets people experiment with the new weapons they worked so hard to create! Think of all the possibilities!
Just because it's PvE doesn't mean balance shouldn't be a thing. Maybe the new exotic version of the Stranger's Rifle will be fun and unique. Maybe you will enjoy running the sword being added as a weapon!
All I'm saying is, before you rage, give it a chance!
Edit: This little post of mine has spawned quite a bit of rage! I would hope the arguments are less "shut up fgt" and more of a civilized conversation.

I'm fine with getting new guns but I also want to be able to use my old ones It wouldn't be so bad if they were just raising the damage cap again but the whole average of attack and defense thing really ticks me off
-
I'm perfectly fine with legendaries being left behind. In fact, I'd prefer they were. I am looking forward to finding my new favorites, and there will be plenty of those. The only thing grinding my gears is the exotics that will be capped lower than the rest. I don't feel like there are enough Exotic weapons in this game to justify leaving behind a big chunk of them. Not really talking about Gjallarhorn either. My main issue is with Hard Light and Necrochasm.
-
Amen..... change is good!
-
I'm ok with leaving legendaries behind but not exotics
-
I'm actually excited for the new challenges. Before gjallarhorn was just an easy button. Now it will actually take some skill to defeat bosses.
-
Well technically were still going to run that when the DLC first comes out until we get new weapons haha
-
It is time

For me it involves a certain amount of principles. How long ago did the last download get released? 3 months? Those weapons and armor will also have to be left behind. Why was this not mentioned before we paid for that? Yeah yeah, gimme that "this is an MMO BS, they always do that" well, to me that's an excuse for lazy thinking and lack of innovation. So, it's year 2, but it's not destiny 2 it's still the first game. Bungie themselves said in the stream they know ppl get attached to weapons for whatever reason, hence the new infusion mechanics for upgrading weaker weapons so they can stay with you and stay relevant! Does this not contradict all you ppl saying move on ditch the old weapons blah blah??
-
Agreed. Some guns were broken. Instead of nerfing them into oblivion, you get to keep them, as is, and continue to abuse old content with them.
-
I agree with you, I'll miss my VoC being top tier for sure but i'll dust it off for a VOG run here and there. So much whininess, with Ghorn especially - the fact that so many people treat it like it's the entire point of the game shows exactly why it must go. The new stuff is going to be awesome.
-
I don't believe any exotic should be left behind. If something is to be the new Ghorn the for Christ sake' make it the "new ghorn" so strong we desire use It, not clipping the balls off of older items. Saying some exotics will make it and some won't pisses me off. Picking favorites really pushes me away.
-
No that's not the issue. The issue is bungie putting low caps for no good reason. 200 marks between all characters and most things cost over 100. FFS. They're keeping 25k glimmer cap too. Them offering us to re upgrade exotics and relevel them up yet again. RAISE THE CAPS JUST DO IT.
-
I hope Bungie continues this trend. I hope none of the past weapons carry over in future DLC or Destiny 2. This is how EVERY single game works. Ever. I do not understand the confusion.
-
Forgive them.. they simply dont understand because most destiny players are strictly console players. For us PC players who've experienced enough mmorpg, we understands that weapons come and go. When the next big patch/expansion comes, new weapons and gear come out that are better than the last.. it's just how it is. It keeps the game fresh, always giving people something to strive for.
-
I generally agree. But I'm more moderate on this issue. I definitely feel that weapons were at their peak in 1.0, TDB weapons were ok and HOW weapons were terrible. From that angle, I'm glad we had ascension during HOW. However, I feel that ascension in general was a huge mistake. Regardless of people's feelings, Destiny is being pushed with the tiered content of an MMO. Being able to keep the same weapons through multiple tiers gives us little incentive to get new gear. Now I have two caveats for that. 1. Like I said, HoW weapons were garbage and ascension was the only thing that kept me playing. 2. In most MMOs, a sword is a sword is a sword. In Destiny, each weapon has a certain feel. From the recoil, the sight, the rate of fire and perks. So there never will be another weapon that's got the same feel to it. Regardless, I'm looking forward to the new gear, quests and raid. I'll reluctantly put down my exotics that don't carry forward and pick up new toys to wreak havoc with.
-
Ultimately I'll miss the Mida's speed boost for PVE (still unconfirmed for year two) but there are a few things I would love to chase.
-
TTK isn't a new game it's an expansion to Destiny. I would have liked to use all the weapons I got in Destiny in Destiny.
-
This is the wrong place for a civilized conversation. There is never a civilized conversation in these forums, but I agree with your post :)
-
Well said, TTK is going to be a refreshing experience
-
Bump bump
-
I'm fine with legendaries, but exotics are a little to much
-
So you don't like having the largest variety and customizable loadouts of weapons as possible? You like having an increasingly shrinking amount of guns that you're able to use? It must be nice being that dull.
-
Yeah people really need to calm down, there will be new, better weapons to collect
