OK I'm not really much of a fan of what this first year has been for Destiny, but get the -blam!- over weapons being left behind. Have you never played any other game before? Ever played Borderlands? Final Fantasy? Any other game where updates bring more levels?

borderlands? have you ever played borderlands? no weapons get left behind you just have to grind for them again, and unlike destiny where you have to do the same thing once a week and hope he gives you the right gun you can kill the bosses as many times as you want until it drops.
-
Is that not EXACTLY what is happening in Destiny? The weapons you once had are useless and now you have to find new ones for the new level cap.
-
yes. BUT after they become useless you can grind for them again thanks to the tvhm and uvhm

The borderlands one cant be applied to this. i could get any weapon in that game at 1 -30 or op 8 if i felt like it - any gun i found could be at any level i wanted, just had to find it again. Destiny isnt anything like that.
-
Regardless of weapon name, you have to find new gear for the new level cap. Deck yourself out in level 50 stuff in Borderlands and then in 2 months time, you have to farm for more weapons for your new level 61 level cap.

yeah, but i could still have the same Gear. Legendaries and pearlescents are equivalent to legendaries and exotics here (or maybe seraph and pearlescents? idk.) and i could have that double penetrating unkempt harold, i could have that pumpernil, that norfleet, that infinity, that thunderball fist, (Hell, im not gonna start on the other stuff we equip thats NOT a gun) - all as strong as i wanted. Here? we dont get the choice to go find our old gear at better levels. We have to give it up. I would be super friggin pissed at Gearbox if the ymade me abandon my vanilla borderlands 2 guns for pirates booty, do it again for torgue, again for hammerlocks dlc, AND AGAIN for tiny tinas. Supremely so, as would many others who played Borderlands 2.

And at least the grind for borderlands 2 can say it was more open world than Destiny. Larger areas, Real area bosses you needed a currency just to have a chance at them, and a secret "world" boss from varkids.
