Sure, let's take away half of our population's rights that they only just had for about a century, which they spent decades, if not centuries fighting for said rights that they deserve, and treat them like cattle again. And I'm sorry to correct you but there has always been gay and straight people and there always will be. Just because we don't treat gays like animals anymore doesn't mean that the human race is going extinct. Besides, why do you think everyone is morally obligated to produce children when this world is already getting overpopulated? Plus some people would be/are terrible parents. Your counter argument "there are plenty of stars to inhabit" is not credible because we do not have the money and technology to do such a thing. I was raised Christian and I'm kind of stuck on the fence about homosexuality itself, but I think if a gay man is going marry a woman and have children together only because he is pressured by society into doing so, while feeling no affection and love for his wife, it wouldn't be a marriage worth having. I may think they might be sinners, but I'm not going to go out of my own way to take away their rights over something that only affects themselves. And my Constitution forbids me from taking away people's rights just because my religion doesn't want me to do such a thing. You seem to think that tolerance of people with different beliefs, faiths, opinions etc, and tolerance of what people think, believe, and do as long as it doesn't affect us, and the law treating each other equally and ensuring our natural rights is going to lead us to extinction. While making the law treat it's citizens like crap if they have a different orientation or gender and allowing bigotry and the law to be side by side will ensure survival and success. If that truly is the case, then I would hope humanity goes extinct.
