The story had a great premise, but ultimatley fell flat. The whole "we knew you would be here 100k years ago and prepared for it" is absurd. Add to that the fact that the didact and the librarian both somehow both survived, and it raises serious questions. Mainly, how does a species capable of seeing thousands of years into the future get taken down by a parasite, especially if they have that kind of stasis technology.
Mu main gripe is that it took a grounded, realistic sci fi franchise, and added a bunch of prophecy and destiny, bordering on magic.
