Community take a guess as well in either strange coins or units sold. Icebreaker sold over 17 million strange coins or 1 million IBs purchased so with that baseline....................................
I'll say at least 35 million strange coins or at least 2 million Jellys got sold..
-
Didn't DeeJ say in a stream he would have had that number for us in the next weekly update he was doing? I never saw it...
-
I bought 300 heavy ammo synths. The only thing that has made xur useful in several months.
-
I'd love to see that stat lol. Wasn't the first Icebreaker sale something around 1-2mil?
-
My guess is that it was way less than IB, because the player base was dropping, and most people didn't care about it any more, so bungie won't release the numbers cuz if they do we'll know the player base is dropping, and they want to keep the illusion of a growing community. If it had been sold first or second week of HoW it would sell a lot, but it was sold too late, so people didn't care.
-
Bungie, are you ever going to tell us how may were sold? you told us how many icebreakers so im sure you guys have numbers on this..
-
Edited by Nike: 8/15/2015 5:09:24 PMI assure you people bought extras :p It's going to be way more than Ice Breaker I'm estimating around 4.3 million to 5.7 million sold. ~TheGreatNike

Xur won't even show up next week after getting back problems from all the strange coins he'd be carrying home.
-
I bought 2
-
I had 1... now I have 3. I guarantee most of everybody still playing who had none, bought 3. Those who had 1, bought 2. But, on the bright side, now at least those people can get into a Hard Crota raid (or even a normal) and now they can kill skolas, they couldn't before because nobody would take them into their team, I personally got lucky and since I got my first gjallarhorn, I take people through shit regardless of their arsenal.
-
I've had 4 drop. Thinking about buying a bunch and dismantling them just because.
-
9,001
-
Already had 7 drop before today. Bought another just to be a statistic.
-
Edited by Lavi: 8/15/2015 9:53:55 PMWill be mentioned in the next weekly update id imagine
-
I've had 10 gjallarhorns drop and have maxed 4 working on 5th one
-
Well 13,000,000 people bought destiny by December, so I think its much more than 2 mil.
-
Tree fiddy
-
I bought 30!
-
100 billion
-
I hope they tell us how many strange coins where used this weekend or number of rockets launchers sold be interesting
-
Selling it is a sure sign there are better heavy exotics coming. I couldn't be bothered buying an extra one and stuck with my 2.
-
I had 3 drop before he sold it but only kept 1. Before people lose their minds, this is an alternate account I made as my initial one is temporarily banned.
-
Edited by TheFrozenInferno: 8/15/2015 5:11:09 PMIt's going to be in the many millions. I'd say Bungie will be revealing numbers in the weekly update and it will blow away the Ice Breaker numbers. Hell, Gjallarhorn was still trending on Twitter more than 24 hours after Xur arrived. Forbes and a bunch of other tech/gaming sites all wrote articles about it. I would guess that a LOT of players who have been away from the game also signed back on to buy some. I've barely touched this game in the past three months other than to hop on and buy something from Xur every now and then, and I bought a second Gjallarhorn for my alt to go with the one I got from the Nightfall over the winter. Almost bought a third just to vault too.
-
Well, the last time Icebreaker went on sale, Deej commented on how many strange coins were spent on Xur. Since Xur selling Gjallarhorn is a fairly historic event and the sales will probably be very high I'm sure Bungie will eventually comment on the sales figures.

100k+ is the answer because even if it sells over 2mil it still falls into the 100k+ category :)
