Grow up. People complaining about earning things. Here's a couple examples of what you earn in this game: a reward at the end of a strike (may it be rare or exotic, it's something, rest is random), gear and items from checkpoints and chests in raids (again, no matter the rarity, you earn gear, but the exact piece is random), strange coins, marks, etc. You don't earn a specific weapon, you earn a reward. That reward can be anything, but whatever it is, you lucked into it. Gally or pest control matrix, class item engram or mote of light, you pulled the "rng-slot machine"'s arm and got what you got. So buying from Xur is technically "earning" something compared to the getting a specific item from a strike. But overall, the "earning" situation shouldn't even have to be getting this out of control.
TL;DR: You earned a Gally from a strike and you're mad Xur sold it? No one cares, grow up. It's a game
