People pay for betas in the software industry. I noticed it first with Microsoft 2000. As to buying products when they first launch, stop pre-ordering, stop buying Activison. That's how you solve this problem. Only when they see us being serious and they start losing money will the software industry stop taking advantage of the consumer market as it's own testing center.
