You waited.
You put tons of hours into the game or maybe you've just started.
You earned your Motes and Coins and still played for the coveted Gjallarhorn.
You put in as much time as so many others (or more in many cases) who already had it.
You rock.
Whether you got it in a drop, purchased it way back, or grabbed yours today, you god damn earned that weapon. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise you fantastic mess (yes, I'm talking to those of you who are crying).
Couple things to note though:
- Don't give people you don't know or trust access to your account to buy Gjallarhorn;
- It's properly pronounced "yallarhorn" but that won't change much (I had to say it though);
- Seriously, keep your private information to yourself, please;
- When you breakdown in tears, try not crying on your hardware. Water damage is a pain.
Stay classy, community.
Edit: DeeJ's Twitter (@DeeJ_BNG) is amazing right now. The best "facts" on Gjallarhorn can be found there. Do you have any Gjallarhorn "facts"?
I've heard that the Wolfpack Rounds are actually fuelled by the tears of those who have opened the Exotic chests and gotten materials.
Edit 2: Please play nice and be respectful to each other. No matter what, you earned your Gjallarhorn and anything else you got. No need to attack the other side. We're all Guardians here.

It's so stupid that you and Deej have to make posts saying that if you bought it from xür you earned it
-
You sir speak the 100% truth
-
Relax, it's gettin nerfed. New weapons comin in a month!
-
May the forces of darkness be nuked into oblivion for the next month. May it be known as the month of the wolf pack.
-
Buy it, max it, blow stuff up. Repeat and enjoy!
-

Sadly respectful and nice aren't words that are well known on the forum, in fact this is a good time for the mods and Bungie to purge the trolls, elitists, and jerks with bans on the forums and in game just by looking at posts. Hopefully the folks threatening to leave actually go.

I've been fortunate enough to have obtained four Gjallarhorns in my time with destiny. I've dismantled two of them but kept the fourth in order to have a spare on another character. For those who have never had the pleasure of owning it, congratulations. Enjoy it.

Thank you for the proper pronunciation of that particularly problematic piece of weaponry.

Today Xur brought us a new exotic. The Xurhorn. back story of the gun " a sign of either joy or anger. forged in the fires that is the great burning of the forums." Description reads "There is beauty in destruction. There is also beauty in tears. this gun brings both." Comes equipped with tracking which is standard. But this Xurhorn has a hidden perk. It aggressively seeks out massive quantities of salt. It's final perk is wolf pack rounds. But these rounds are actually the ghosts of former guardians that left destiny when this gun was being sold. When asking banshee about the design of the gun he told me something rather interesting. Banshee had expressed how rocket fuel is pretty scarce these days. But with the massive amounts of tears collected over destiny's life time on top of the tears coming from this gun being sold he's been able to use it as an alternate fuel source. So just remember Xurhorn users to thank all of the salty children of the forums. They are the sole reason your gun still fires to this day.

Edited by ColosusKalEl: 8/14/2015 5:16:34 PMI'm happy for everyone that haven't had luck on their side of getting one so far

I agree with you but it took 10 months to get my first fatebringer and still try in to get that old crux but if my legendary raid weapons from vog and crota are no good anymore and can't ascend then inevitably the time for my legend has come to a sad sudden halt cause I unfortunately will not go further in my space travels thanks for your time

The thing about Gjallarhorn cakes is that they are better with friends
-
Can't earn a RNG only drop. Only the RNG roll. But yeah all methods of obtaining within the game are equally valid.
-
Agreed on all but one of your points.
It's properly pronounced "yallarhorn" but that won't change much (I had to say it though);
The correct pronunciation would actually be Guh-Jāllalallal-ee-orn. The "h" is silent... I thought you'd know this? I seem to have been sorely mistaken...

As some of my fellow guardians have already said. You sir bring hope to these forums. Shams this thread will eventually be drowned in all the flame threads to come. You deserve a cookie.

Couldn't be said any better

You, sir, have renewed my faith in these forums. It's a shame this post will be buried by those that want to bash, instead of being positive. So, thank u, and have a great weekend.
