You've had these weapons for a while year, you've spent your time with them now go get the new gear. This is the problem and bungie wants it fixed, players are way to attached to their old weapons and won't pay attention to the new ones so leaving old for new is the better idea. It's like leaving last gen behind for new gen, just keep your gear and in year 5 you'll have all year 1 gear and can show it off in the tower and use it in the crucible and show the later generation of players just how good year one really was.
Besides your gear isn't great in PvE, but still will be in pvp

Not sure you quite understand... I don't want to take Fatebringer in to crucible, its not actually useful in there? I DO however want to take it forward in PvE and find a new gun I could switch back and forth with, not replace it because I have to. That's the issue. Give us the new guns, let me find my new FB in the new raid, dont FORCE my FB into the vault for use on level 2 patrols :(

TTK content is level 25. Your fatebrinnger slaughters level 34 enemy's. Your fatebrinnger will be perfect for all PvE activities leading up towards the end game content. By the time you reach the end game content you should have a full arsenal of new weapons and gear that are just right for Killing oryx.

Nobody had all these weapons for a whole year. People are still grinding for those elusive guns.

Only I haven't had a whole year. The loot drop system means I'm still grinding for stuff, 1500 hours in, 50 raid completions and at least as many again partial completions to the exotic drop stages. I'm likely to get some of this stuff after it's irrelevant. If I were to play an MMO and start a new character, I'd expect that I could use my previous character's old "best gear" until I reached a high enough level to use the new stuff. But not here. Old stuff just becomes junk on release date, if you buy the expansion or not, if you're level 1 or level 20 or level 34.

New guns same as old. Dont want to grind to keep getting lesser versions of the original over and over.

The hell are you on about? Have you even seen anything for TTK? I don't belive I've seen a single reskin of any gun that's in the game right now..

Skins are different, sure. But itll be more shadowprice clones, more dr. nopes, more shingens. you really think there wont be? Thats what im on about. As per OPs post regarding the same thing.

I very highly doubt bungie is that stupid. The backlash that would come about that would be tremendous so I have no doubt bungie have put time into creating tons of new weapons and gear that have never been seen in destiny before.

Dude. Have you been paying attention to the way they've handled Destiny to this point? Have you ever heard of shank burn? Dreg burn? Name 1 weapon from HOW thats better than anything from vanilla(HP is the only one that stands out to me.).

Have you even looked at some of the pictures of the new guns? They are nothign like anything we have seen before in Destiny.
