When I first got the Thorn (8 months ago) It was crap, absolutely awful, but I loved it, it shot giant f-n thorns into the head of enemies, it has an awesome look fit for a game like destiny, and the sight picture was very creative. It was a great gun. Then it got it's boost, and it's popularity took off.
Bottom line, the Thorn is an awesome creation by the Bungie team, and should be taken a little less seriously on the stats side.
Good job Bungie you made a gun I never want to stop shooting.

I have the gun, but I'm not a huge hand cannon fan in general. I'll be pleased if they iron out the gun balance so that other loadouts besides hand cannons are competitive. Playing your favorite weapon type shouldn't immediately put you at a disadvantage on every map, simply because one or two guns are too strong. Also, just watch... You may keep using it (kudos!) but people will drop it like yesterday's trash when it ceases to provide unbalanced versatility compared to every other gun. We shall see what new meta arises, and whether it is similarly weighted toward so few weapons. Here's hoping that Bungie gets it right.
