I agree with every point to make, here. I [i]don't[/i] feel like commitment to this game are at [i]all[/i] being validated by any of Bungie's design decisions- as a fan, or as a consumer. This game was about "becoming legend," right? Well, if Bungie has now decided that my past efforts no longer have any bearing on my "legend," then the only thing I'm going to become is another lost consumer. Ugh.
