I made this vow as a child and I plan to keep this vow forever. anyone else do the same?
-
You won't keep it.
-
I quit drinking to much trouble...
-
Yea. And I broke it. TODAY IS MY LAST DAY DRINKING. REALLY... IT IS... GOTTA TRAIN 4 SCHOOL *said the same thing every month this year*
-
I thought the same thing too a few years ago. I didn't want to follow the same path as some people I had known did because I wanted to be a better person. But then I learned that alcohol isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's something fun that you can delve into to ease the moment with a few friends and make situations even funnier. I didn't want the negative demonstrations from alcoholics to void something enjoyable out of my life so I didn't. I learned to drink responsibly and now I have the best of both worlds. I'm not saying that you should drink alcohol, I'm just saying that it's not a bad thing to do every now and then with some friends. It's the gluttony of alcohol that ruins goods people.

Your life is going to be pretty boring. Ill have a beer for you right now.
-
Alcohol is a crutch Good one too
-
I applaud you...I hope you are as understanding when you are holding up your spouse in the shower while she pukes all over herself.
-
Let's see how long that will last
-
Good for you. I'll take a shot for you on Thursday night when I get home from the liquor store.
-
Good for you but I'm still gonna do drugs

Edited by angry0lbgrampa: 8/23/2015 3:29:25 PMI made the same vow. However, I did make a compromise. Me and my wife occasionally drink wine. I do not count it as abusing alcohol though. Ignore any haters in life. Drinking alcohol isn't, cool or some great experience. You can have just as much fun in life without it.

Not only have I taken this vow, I support the return of prohibition. Why should we have this around us when it causes tons of traffic accidents and death in many cases?
-
Good on you.
-
Same here. Of course I would only have some on New Years and other holidays when I'm old enough, but I never want to ever drink enough to get drunk.
-
How old are you?
-
Alcohol was ruined the first time I saw my parents drunk, given my observations on them I deduced that due to both of their erradic behaviour I would probably be a stupid drunk, therefore I shall not drink as I turn of age.
-
Do whatever. 1 life, live it.
just not whilst you have kids growing up - any alchy/druggy with kids is a disgrace
-
I made that promise in 6th grade. And I'll keep it because I never go back on my word. That is my nindo. MY NINJA WAY!
-
I made a deal with my dad when I was 8. The first time I drink will be the toast at my college graduation party. I'm following it through to the end.
-
> gets offered Champaign at New Year's > Is 12 years old > Dumps Champaign on floor > Profit
-
Good for you. Fight peer pressure.
-
-blam!- everything, I have decided to drink whenever possible, I have been drunk for the past two weeks, im a disgrace I know
-
Never drank, been drunk/high & don't plan on it.
-
Pretty smart vow if you can keep it. Alcohol has ruined and ended many lives. I just wouldn't look down on people that drink, sometimes we need it to keep from going insane.
-
Good for you. I decided the same thing when I was little. I don't drink alcoholic beverages at all. I've never been tempted nor do I have the desire for it. I'm 25 now. You can do it.
