I started playing in November and it took me awhile to build up the confidence to try my first raid. So just after the dark below dropped I decided to try VoG normal. Now I didn't have an exotic yet and saw all the videos of people using icebreaker on the oracles. And I thought lucky me Xur is selling an exotic sniper. So I was all excited. So I bought my first exotic gun, The No Land Beyond and attempted the Vault as that as my primary. Let's just say that was an experience all on its own.
