No he didn't. He said you will be "the level you have obtained." You player level is 20. That's been the maximum player level since Destiny launched. Your player level will be 20 when TTK launches.
-
How could you possibly start at 20?! So things like the nightfall/ raids etc would be rendered useless until you gained enough xp to be the adequate level to run these which means what exactly? Running daily bounties to try and grind up levels come on dude you can't actually think this would be the case.

No in the ign interview this question was asked and deej said that your light lvl will be turned into exp so if you are a 34 light lvl you will start ttk as a 34
-
No it wasn't. You didn't even watch, did you? You just read that nonsense on the forum. He never said anything remotely similar to that.

rlg, go to the video, at 11:45 listen very carefully. they talk about having a lvl 26 char, and deej says he will quickly be able to level up from 26. Stop spreading bad info. http://www.ign.com/videos/2015/08/06/destiny-the-taken-king-new-gameplay-ign-live-gamescom-2015

Edited by Rick: 8/11/2015 8:15:33 PMThe guy says "so will I start at 26" and DeeJ says "you're good to go." Notice how direct his answers are to everything except those about levelling. He never says your light level is converted to experience. That wouldn't even make sense. The whole point is that light level is now separate from player level. Also, you don't have a specific light level. It depends on what you are wearing. They can't force you to be locked at the level of gear you happen to be wearing September 14th at midnight.

It's the very next thing he says. Interviewer asks for clarification, deej says he will quickly be able to level up from 26.
-
He was trying to change the subject and get away from starting level. He never once confirmed that light level was going to be converted to player level. In fact, he pretty much stated the opposite.
