I'm not defending Bungie's decision but I played WoW and it was an Activision game just like Destiny. Each time an expansion came out you had to do a purge of items because those 16 slot bags in your bank weren't enough. Eventually they had some archiving system for you to park really old weapons. Man, it sucks losing everything but I expected this from Activision since they are controlling the game. The greed is becoming strong and the only way to get people hooked is by making them perpetually grind. You sink hours in trying to get that weapon that 2-shots people in Crucible only to find out you'll find the new flavor in the next expansion. When they said you'll be keeping your character for the next decade they probably mean your grimoire score and your triumph stuff. Everything else is gone!
