I'm sick and tired of getting paired up with people in Brazil who play Destiny right next to a puddle of mud. Add dedicated servers or remove skill based matchmaking and match me with people in my area.
Seriously, activision and bungie stop being cheap and do something to fix this issue. I hate playing with red bar retards in crucible. How are you still going to use P2P down the road in 10 years? Why isn't this being adressed in The Taken King?
-
I am from Brazil. I can attest that we do not play next to puddles of mud here. I, for instance, play sitting on a very confortable couch and next to a slightly refreshing breeze from an A/C. Also, we have very good internet here. If you are having trouble with Lagging Brazilians, it's very probably on your end. I play with a North American/European Clan, and all of them can confirm that I never lag buddy.

activation will never add dedicated servers, they are to cheap for that even thou most games have them now. how much money they make off destiny and cod there is no excuse not to have them!!!
-
Where's the mute button on this thing?
-
I wish they implemented a ping limit within crucible Theres NO good argument against it as the lag comp is too lenient as is. That way local and appropriate matchmaking for skilled players are still possible
-
But...Destiny doesn't have skill based MM....does it???

Edited by Undiminishable: 8/12/2015 10:42:47 AMUSA had sub par internet compared to a lot of countries. All while maintaining slower internet/higher price ratio. http://www.businessinsider.com/fastest-internet-connection-speeds-2015-5

Pepsi bottle, Coca Cola Glass *Poors Pepsi into The Coca Cola glass* I don't give a damn. *Thug Lyfe music plays and "Thug Lyfe" fades into screen while a Sweg hat, Gold Chain and joint spin into place*

I live in Southern California and get matched with a lot of people that are south of the border. There are times I'm the only green bar in the lobby
-
What's SBMM? Is that some sort of 50 Shades of Grey thing? Weirdo.
-
Edited by Loyalpayer: 8/11/2015 11:32:03 AMBecause dedicated servers cost money and these cheapskates cut corners where ever they can do. For examples of this look at the story cutscenes content updates etc etc.

Umm they have done this http://ca.ign.com/articles/2015/04/29/destinys-new-matchmaking-chooses-connection-over-skill It must mean you have bad connection and get matched up with out people with bad connection bro
-
Bro, is there anything you don't bitch about? You realize this is just a video game, right? Get a job and move out of your parents basement. 'the fck outta here!
-
The real question is why at they using P2P in 2015. Seriously. It's 2015. Host your game on Azure you cheap bastards.
-
Hah! Skill based match making. I GOT STUCK WITH A 24 WHO GOT NO KILLS THE WHOLE GAME! I have a 1.69 K/D, hit most shots as head shots and am in the top 10% for most things. I do have a life and go outside but I do enjoy and play this game a lot too. I balance them. (Not a basement troll but am looking for a job. :/)

Edited by Un1337ninj4: 8/11/2015 5:18:45 AMActually there are changes slated in TTKing already announced with the state of Match Making!
Expanded Crucible: 8 new maps and 3 new modes. The modes are Mayhem, Rift, & Zone Control – only controlling matters, kills don’t. Quests to ease new players in. 5 weekly bounties in addition to much faster daily bounties. Finish all 5 weekly bounties to unlock a big bad bounty where you have a chance at a powerful reward like a Legendary/Exotic weapon. Better matchmaking for skill and connection. The Crucible will have a “mercy rule” that will end “dramatically misbalanced” matches early to preserve player sanity/K/D
And on the IGN Fireteam chat Urk mentioned "Under the hood" improvements to the Match Making and connectivity systems. Will it be enough? I 'unno, but it's one more step.

It does have dedicated servers, I only join Australians and New Zealanders.
-
It isn't just Destiny. There are plenty of games that need to switch from P2P to Dedicated Servers. I think they're just trying to ride it as long as possible.

Judging from what I heard, Bungie is planning to add better matchmaking based on skill and connection soon so I'm just going to wait for that until I go back to the Crucible since there's too much red bar ppl that I'm getting matched with :(
-
No. That would create disadvantage in South East Asia and South America. People who live in a server room would dominate people far away. Remember US EU are not only region that play games.

They should just put all the red bar people together xD

I totally agree with you.. I've been saying this for what seems like eons. I honestly don't know why they are soo against this it would eliminate so many networking issues. But if that isn't viable then perhaps just local MM instead or the option to prioritise local first then out source to fill player count but the host remains local at all times..
-
Yep they said they're going to add sbmm. Bad bad idea. It ruined cod aw for me and thousands of people. Destiny is laggy anyway and they're adding sbmm? Oh boy.... The lag will be even worse and the game will feel more like work than playing a video game.
