Ascending Year 1 gear into Year 2 with GLIMMER!
Boom. New best idea ever created. Boom.
25,000 glimmer to ascend old gear into Year 2. Done through Gunsmith for weapons and your respective vanguard mentor for armor.
Super duper grindy, which Bungie likes so it keeps us on their servers. Doesn't circumvent new gear. It's [b]OPTIONAL[/b] to use. Boom. We all win.

1 ReplyThere is a certain necessity for "optional" to be a thing and that is both options are equally viable. If the new gear is as good as VoG gear (lrt's face it, that was the best gear Year 1) then this is totally a good idea. If the Year 2 gear is worse than VoG gear (which isn't hard to imagine seeing as VoG gear is very, very good) then this cannot work as nobody would care for the new gear.

11 RepliesGetting bored with the old gear. Ready to get new gear. Honestly don't care that much over dismantling old weapons to get new ones. This game is meant to be a grind. What's the point of getting a gun if it is just handed to me? CoD was a grind to level up to use certain guns with their mods/sights and then you'd start over to increase your prestige just to grind again. Then they'd introduce a new game with new features and new guns and maybe bring a few old ones back but mostly you'll want to you use something new, but for the most part the games are exactly the same thing every year. Not enough info to determine what the new gear in Destiny will be like in TTK.

Logically if anyone votes 'who cares', shouldn't they just be removed from the poll as they don't, you know, care? Also it won't affect anybody who doesn't want to use old gear. If they want to fire on with only new gear that's absolutely fine, go for it. I don't get why people who don't want gear ascension are trying to block it for those that do. Speaks to alternate motives to me. it's like me trying to stop pvp balance changes when I never play pvp.
