  • Find a single comment where I said it was curable... at most I said one can overcome some of it with mental training. But I still invite you to find that, I've only defending the people giving props to people.

Mental training? Bloody hysterical. Let me explain it to you in a very dumbed down fashion. People with Aspergers are socially and culturally retarded. We speak "off the cuff" from mostly scientific observances because we're not that good with emotional/empathetic stuff. You can explain a thousand times to someone with Aspergers that a situation or a comment is socially unacceptable and, yeah, eventually the person will pick up on it most of the time but only in that specific situation. If the situation changes (amount of people (we're not good with people), environment, socio-political climate, gender or age majority, etc.) then we will not pick up on why it's fine in one and not in another. We will then get frustrated and (usually) the younger ones will lash out. There is no "getting over it" or "growing out of it" or "mental training" because our brains do not function the way a "normal" brain does. Personally, I prefer the way my brain functions because I see it for what it really is instead of having to hide behind some ridiculous politically-correct non-sense--i.e., what you're trying to do right now--and can see things based solely on facts.

  • I'm sorry to have offended you but I won't apologize for defending people only trying to show respect.

  • Lying, or perpetuating a myth such as "overcoming" a genetic disorder, is hardly "trying to show respect." The OP is doing the exact opposite of "trying to show respect" by lying about having a debilitating disorder just to get attention.

  • "..but may have extremely poor social and communication skills." So what your telling me somebody with Autism can never overcome these symptoms to have regular social interactions? Give your head a shake.

  • A.) Aspergers isn't part of the autism spectrum anymore. B.) If they are a low-functioning autistic the answer is no. If you're non-vocal you're not going to speak. If you cannot make eye contact (common with Aspergers) you will not make eye contact and when you do it comes off as incredibly forced and creepy so you stop doing it because you're afraid you look like you're staring and don't want people to think you're strange.
