My first Vault of Glass run we cheesed the Templar with the Warlock grenade trick.
My first Crota's end run we cheesed the 2nd bridge and pulled the ethernet cable on Crota.
It wasn't really by choice but just happened that way for me.
I think it would be fun going into the new Raid knowing anything about it and just see what happens.
What's your story?

Edit 3: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm amazed that most people didn't cheese it for the first time. Now let's break out the crackers and spread the cheese while we reminisce about year 1 and anticipate year 2.

I did them all before an exploit was known. Mainly bc the people I play with are the same way. As of the past few months though I have had less and less friends playing Destiny...and more new friends don't know what a full legit raid is anyways. It'll get to the point where most people won't do a raid until they hear about a cheese/exploit a few days/weeks/months after that specific expansion comes out. Just bc it seems easier doesn't always mean it makes the gameplay smoother and less difficult in the long run. Bc if all you do is exploit...then you take away the skills learned. There is a difference between taking advantage of a class ability and abusing a game mechanic to avoid confrontation of the way the game should be played.
