My first Vault of Glass run we cheesed the Templar with the Warlock grenade trick.
My first Crota's end run we cheesed the 2nd bridge and pulled the ethernet cable on Crota.
It wasn't really by choice but just happened that way for me.
I think it would be fun going into the new Raid knowing anything about it and just see what happens.
What's your story?

Edit 2: 500 comments!
Edit 3: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm amazed that most people didn't cheese it for the first time. Now let's break out the crackers and spread the cheese while we reminisce about year 1 and anticipate year 2.

Yes. First time I did VOG we pushed off the Templar. Did every other encounter by the books though.
-
VoG: I did this during December (got the game at beta and day 1) and I had literally no clue what was going on so I'm pretty sure we cheesed the Templar but not atheon. Scrotums end: before I found a group to do it, me and my friend cheesed the lamps and the bridge right when it came out. After that we just got a group to do the death singer and crota a couple weeks later
-
First VoG? Nope. First Crota? That bridge was cheesier than pizza.
-
Atheon? No. Crota? Yes. I had beaten the bridge several times before I was shown the legit way to do it.
-
Yup first time I did both was hard mode. Atheon I joined in and they immediately pushed him off. Crota they used the pulling the cable trick to kill him right away. I've beat them both multiple time legit since then but those were my first times when I really didn't raid.
-
Nope.
-
Cheesed Templar, Cheesed Atheon off the back.
-
I must say I'm very disappointed.
-
My first VoG we jumped and camped on the hobgoblin pillars for Templar.
-
No, but only because I didn't know about the cheeses yet.
-
No because there were no cheeses on the first day of the raid

Edited by SPARTAN 465: 8/9/2015 5:16:04 PMNope...I did VoG legit for awhile until I started playing with my cousin...Crota's End I havent done legit but wanted to
-
If I recall correctly we cheesed Templar by all jumping out to the far left hobgoblin platform with the relic and hiding behind a piece of the platform like a bunch of little bitches. On the other hand, we did the oracles the legit way at the time which is in my opinion probably the hardest part of VoG if you don't cheese it from the top platform.
-
Popped my cherries on VoG and CE the first week of release with friends, having gone in blind! And have ever since. Only times we ever did cheese anything was if someone was pressed for time, so they could at least get the drops for that section
-
I don't like cheese
-
Always did Vault runs legit. Crota we did legit for about a month or so. Started cheesing the bridge part since we usually only have 3 or 4 people doing it at a time.
-
-
Nope. VoG with 5 other people who had never done it before. Took us 7 hours over 2 days. Beating Atheon was one of the most rewarding things ever in this game.
-
I cheesed as I struggled getting a regular group. The clan I was in had the mains who ran the raids and we're more focused on completing it for themselves than helping anyone else through. They always felt the cheese was easier and so you went along with it so you could at least do the raid. When I help other people in raids now I try and do it legit (though sometimes playing with randoms you just have to embrace the cheese! )
-
No for VoG. For crota was invited in at the bridge (first time I had ever seen TDB) and guy said if I died and self rezzed we could snipe some ogres and get some drops. Did it and got some armour!!! We ran over the bridge and very carefully looked down the thrall hallway. He said you couldn't do that bit unless you had a full fireteam of 6 and he knew what he was talking about, knew about the self Rez and everything. So we just jumped around a bit near the bridge and then went to orbit. Those were the days!
-
My first vault run was blind with 5 friends the same it was a struggle but a great time took over 12hrs probably not strait but all together and no cheese we didn't watch any videos at all
-
Damn straight I did. The raid was long enough as it was back In the day with all the bugs and glitches. Anything that helped it go faster was welcomed. People need to remember the level cap was 30 at the time and most people doing the hard raid were still 27,28 and forever 29.
-
Haven't cheesed a raid to this day
-
First vog no cheese, it was before everyone was pushing templar, by my second or third though that was the norm. By the time crota came out I had a group I played with regularly, and we didn't cheese. Although when doing an lfg it seemed like the thing to do, I was always against it and even got groups to do the bridge anyway
-
We used the Sparrow/door glitch in beginning but that's it. Ledge push was fixed when I did VoG the one and only time:P
