My first Vault of Glass run we cheesed the Templar with the Warlock grenade trick.
My first Crota's end run we cheesed the 2nd bridge and pulled the ethernet cable on Crota.
It wasn't really by choice but just happened that way for me.
I think it would be fun going into the new Raid knowing anything about it and just see what happens.
What's your story?

Edit 2: 500 comments!
Edit 3: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm amazed that most people didn't cheese it for the first time. Now let's break out the crackers and spread the cheese while we reminisce about year 1 and anticipate year 2.

First Templar I did was from floating platforms :/
-
Not my first raid, no. I still didn't have the ideal 'blind' raid experience that everyone wishes they had. Four of us were fresh first timers, and two had completed it once before. So the two led the four, and it worked out surprisingly well. First Crota's end we did legit, but the primary 'leader' player was being a frustrated asshole when it came to sword-bearer, so I said -blam!- it and left. Next time through and every time since then we've cheesed. We don't cheese crota, just the bridge and the lamps. Though I have cheesed Crota to get flawless raider for some friends of mine. It's unfortunate I had to be the one to quit out, as I don't have the achievement to show for it. But, oh well. Maybe some day I'll get it legit.

I was late on the raiding scene. Like really late. All of the major cheeses were known of and patched by the time I started raiding (for both raids). That being said, my first time through the Vault, my team wiped to do oracles/Templar from the top. My first time doing Crota, my team cheesed the bridge. In both instances I had no idea what they were doing, so I just followed along.

Always did VOG legit...Crota though, that's a different story..
-
Beat legitimately VoG
-
My first VoG I was told to stand in the corner and cleanse them when they told me to. I had no clue what was happening and nobody told me. I have only done the bridge part of Crota once legit.
-
both of my first raids were cheeses
-
First time I beat the raid most of the cheeses were still unknown by most. We knew we could push atheon off but had no clue how to do it.
-
Nope, just joined a good team and tore it up :)
-
Didn't know how to cheese the raid first time I did it.
-
Did Crota 100% legit. Only cheesed the oracles by standing on the cliffs.
-
Both vog and crota were done within the first week of release and was never cheesed. The only times I've cheesed anything was when I ran with groups off of LFG. In my old clan we did everything legit. Much more satisfying that way and you actually feel like you've accomplished something.

First vog raid legit Croat we did the kneeling forever thing
-
Edited by Badshah Kazi: 8/9/2015 1:37:51 PMNope. We beat it legit start to finish. Back then, people didn't know of templar glitch and we didn't know how to cheese Atheon. Felt so good when we beat him at the end. First Crota's End, everyone cheesed it.
-
Nope did my first raid on Thanksgiving (or the 27th of November) which meant that VoG was patched.
-
First VoG cheesed Templar First Crota cheesed bridge
-
No because people weren't brainwashed thinking it was hard. Everything took a few tries, different strategies. Vault of Glass oracles is easy on the ground, same as crota bridge. People are just too brainwashed. I consider standing in the middle of the crota fight a cheese because you are cheating the fight in a way, enemies cant shoot you. Everything is more fun the way it was on day one (sick rimes not intended)

I got invited to atheon as a new 28 titan. They said throw a grenade right there, so I did. I didn't know there was another way, so I threw a grenade and pow got the helmet. The only thing I got worth a shit from that raid for a long time.

Edited by Guardian3263: 8/9/2015 1:34:06 PMCheese free on every run until my clan quit. We weren't the best players but we did VoG when our schedules lined up and Crota's End, too. Did CE hard mode way less due to the bugs and the fact we didn't like its design, but nonetheless we beat the challenge (Plus nechrochasm sucked). My clan quit before HoW but my favorite part of this game was having people who played the game cheese-free as intended, and struggling as a team to get that moment of triumph. Made it fun and feel like meaningful, appropriate challenge at the end. Now, I doubt I'm going to get those days back, but hey, enjoy 'em while you got them. Also, props for this post, man.

Nope all legit
-
Did the grenade cheese on the templar but did Crota legit
-
No cheese for me
-
We didn't cheese VoG the first time, CE is the one I have never done "legit" because I two-man that one every week. VoG is so fun and cheesing it kinda ruins it.
-
Cheesed vog a few times early on because back then all you got was found verdict. Cheese crota a few times as well. I don't really care, did both legit on both difficulties more times than most as well.
-
There were no such thing as cheeses back then
-
CE, all legit, vog, can't remember. If I did it was just pushing the Templar off.
