My first Vault of Glass run we cheesed the Templar with the Warlock grenade trick.
My first Crota's end run we cheesed the 2nd bridge and pulled the ethernet cable on Crota.
It wasn't really by choice but just happened that way for me.
I think it would be fun going into the new Raid knowing anything about it and just see what happens.
What's your story?
Edit: We're at 200 comments strong and trending! So fun hearing all the stories. Hit the like button on the post if you had fun thinking back on your first raids. I know it's been fun for me remembering and hearing the tales. Thanks Guardians!
Edit 2: 500 comments!
Edit 3: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm amazed that most people didn't cheese it for the first time. Now let's break out the crackers and spread the cheese while we reminisce about year 1 and anticipate year 2.

1) unfortunately. 2) Dld.....so, was that typo on purpose, or....?
-
i have only cheesed when i neede to go somewhere and we were nearly done
-
I cheesed later. Crota we did day 1 and figured out our own way thru
-
Remember the Templar Left rock cheese, I was 23...
-
We tried to cheese it sort of but the cheese was so ass backwards it was insane. We were at the Templar and instead of fighting on the ground or using warlock grenades (nobody knew about that yet), we all hid on the back left sniper tower right next to the relic holder. We completely ignored the oracles and just hid until the relic had a super then we would let the Templar have it. Needless to say, this method took FOREVER and the Templar enraged but that didn't affect us when we were close to the relic. So we were constantly getting marked for negation and dying and getting revived and getting cleansed. It was a HUGE pain in the ass. It would have been easier to fight him the regular way. Oh the days of being level 26....

Did VoG with a bunch of people I didn't know, 2 of them had done it once before but couldn't get past the confluxes. It took us a hell of a long time, was the most fun I've ever had in a video game, and those guys are still my core group of friends in Destiny and other games.

No, I beat both fairly the first time around.
-
My first raid was the first raid.
-
Nope. Have never cheesed any of them.
-
My first Vault of Glass:
Confluxes: No Cheese Oracles: Down and Dirty on the ground (No Cheese) Templar: No Cheese Gatekeepers: No Cheese Atheon: No cheese (besides the "3 people at the back of the room" glitch which was unstoppable anyways.

Not a lot of Calcium here boys!
Haven't completed a raid yet :/
-
1st? No (both), Now, bruh how do you think I solo Crota as a hunter?
-
Nope never cheesed the raid the first time I played it cause no one knew there were cheeses when I played the raid both times, VoG I believe took 4 hours to do first time and crotas end was around 3. I don't condemn people who cheese, because I have been in groups that cheese raids, however actually learn the mechanics of the raid instead of just learning cheeses.
-
No cheese. 5 painful hours on normal VoG in September.
-
No it cheesed us
-
Ive done all levels legit but I'll cheese when I can to cut time off the grind. I never raid with the same group.
-
Once because I never believed the cheese till it worked
-
Sounds like very few here have legit raid experience. If VOG didn't take you hours of wipes you're shit and got carried by experienced players. If you didn't do each raid with first timers you're shit.
-
I like pizza.
-
I didn't even know you could cheese until a few months ago
-
My first hard was straight cheddar
-
Not the first time but like the 3rd and onwards. I was in a couple teams that tried to knock Atheon off but no one knew how. Templar was so easy, and it made hunters feel useless, which is also a plus. I remember doing(or trying to at least) Crota a lot. Everyone was confused on what made a person the host and what was really required to glitch him. Actually unplugging something or just turning off your connection in the menu. Good times. It's a lot more fun and less stressful to do it legit though
-
No sir! But I have done it afterwards
-
Because giving the word exploit another name is socially acceptable.
