if the weapons are going to be obsolete then there is no reason to even play the vog or Crota. Can you imagine doing those raids your first time and your reward is a gun that you wont use because you obviously have more powerful gear. Its funny the people who are welcoming this change are the same people who got these weapons day 1 and used them and are not thinking of other players who haven't. But players who are new or just got back into the game not that long ago are getting screwed. I just got my word of crota last week and still haven't done vault of glass or gotten anywhere near everything from crota's end. Screw us right...... the ones who didn't get everything day 1. if you don't want to use your fatebringer anymore here's a hint don't use it you should have the freedom to choose how you want to play. I rather have the choice then not.

This is where this game is becoming more and more like an MMORPG. In an MMORPG, when the game world gets a large adjustment or the next expansion comes out, there may be a few jems that stand out worth going backwards in content to obtain. At this point in Destiny, we have come to the point where(sadly) the VoG and Crota are becoming the raids, just like in wow, that nobody does anymore. The content is still there but it's not useful for anyone because the level cap has been increased and the power level max has been increased as well. Everyone that's upset about this should really take a step back and realize that THIS is how this game will survive especially considering the competition that's come out. Maybe 5 years from now there will be a VoG 2 and we'll be able to get even more powerful weapons and rewards. But until then, the life's blood of a long term game is fresh content.

1. It isn't an MMO. Stop comparing it as such. 2. This is a console game, with DLC; DLC should add to the base-game and increase content, not replace or shrink it. 3. Destiny will have a traditional sequel in the future, unlike something like WoW, so don't treat TTK like a "sequel." TTK is an add-on to Destiny, which means it should add to it.

Edited by I Speedwagon I: 8/10/2015 4:56:06 AMLol you just said this game will survive by making a lot of its content obsolete... Just because taken king will be a huge dlc does not in any way mean it will be more content than VOG, crota, and HOW. Destiny isn't a game that needs to have content cut out to survive. In fact the opposite, it needs all the good content it can get. Yea maybe you're getting a lot with TTK, but after you do all that you'll just be back to doing the raid once a week... Doing the other raids won't even be worth your time. It'd 've nice to do old raids and get good gear and have fun. You shouldn't have to be forced to use these new things they are putting in the TTK just because the armor and dmg is better.

No, I am saying that in an mmorpg that usually content becomes obsolete and that that is ok. If we move towards that format nobody will care about old content.
-
It will survive because new content replaces the old and everyone is forced to basically begin again on the next stage of the adventure.
