JESUS. GOJIRA.
YOU'VE RETURNED TO US!
but what I need to know is whether or not OB's still hiding.
Possibly. Halo: Escalations current story arc is the Absolute Record, and well, they just got to it. The last issue ended on a plot hook with it being revealed the Absolute Record is being managed by Contender-class Ancilla. Some are suggesting it's Offensive Bias. Though I'm reserved on that idea because I don't find it immediately logical that a war AI created for the sole-purpose of combating another AI would be managing the Forerunner's galactic cartographer.
Also, when do we get a proper Lovecraftian cosmic horror instead of this superhero/ONI stuff for Halo 5?
Halo 5's plot is under TIGHT wraps. Only thing we know is that the Domain is involved and is calling for the Chief, and this makes Blue Team go AWOL. Which Osiris is then sent to track them down. However, The manhunt aspect of the story appears to be somewhat of a facade for the real story, as Frankie said that the nature of Osiris' mission changes radically at the middle of the game. That and Frankie said that Halo 5 will change the Halo Universe in a fundamental way.
The Halo man inside me doesn't want another UNSC/Covie political affair.
The only thing we know on this front is that the Arbiter sends Osiris on a bunch of missions to help his cause, which, I assume would undoubtedly lead to uncovering clues to what Blue Team has been up to.
OH. Also, Halo 5's story covers A HUGE span of time. Blue Team goes AWOL in early March 2558 (which gets covered in the game), but it looks like the "present" parts of the game take place in October 2558 or even beyond.
Have we still gotten an explanation for why Truth was actively trying to destroy his own plan by sectioning off the people he needed to make his plan work? Or is Halo 3's plot still going full blown max overmoron?
Nah, Halo 3's plot is still a total mess. Though, I don't remember if you were around for 343i to fix the High Charity going through the portal plot-hole.
In other bad Halo story news, Halo: Fleet Battles patched up some more of Halo Reach's story, revealing how the Fleet of Valiant Prudence found Reach, and what they were after. Basically it makes Reach relevant to Halo's story now, as the Fleet of Valiant Prudence was looking for the Forerunner Capitol. It also suggests that Supreme Commander Rho 'Barutamee survived the destruction of the Long Night of Solace and faked his death in the process so he could continue searching for the Forerunner Capitol without being screwed over by the High Council for royally screwing up at Reach.
Whew...
Anyway, I had just found the video right before you made this post. =P
