Yup, my friends list is full of people who have moved on. Moved on to other games sadly.
Destiny is a grind, no point in grinding if the items are only top shelf for a couple months.
Think about it how many people would have done 50 Crota easy raids just for black hammer if they knew it would only be good for another month. Not near as many.
I'm not complaining, I'm just saying I won't be replaying the same content repeatedly if the motivation to acquire the best isn't there.
Didn't get the sniper you hoped for the first 10-15 raid completions? Oh well the next lvl will be out soon anyways. Might as well play something different till the next dlc.
People used to do the same raids and such every week 3x to acquire and build up their gear. It's not worth all that if they want us to leave the rewards behind anyways.
Instead of playing destiny, they will try new games with an actual story and content. Some will come back for the dlcs, but many won't. If they ascended weapons people wouldn't want the new lvl any less. There is no real reason to do this. Especially since we're still in destiny 1. When they come out with a whole new game destiny 2, that's when they could leave old weapons behind.
