When you play a level 30 raid and use a 365 attack value fatebringer, those extra 65 damage points over 300 don't have any effect. When you're too over powered your level and damage are brought down to balance out damage. Using new weapons that are even stronger still won't have any extra oomph behind them as they're set around 300 (I believe it's around 300-310) attack in a 30 raid. This answers the question, if you were wondering, how we die in level 12 strikes as a 34.. Should be impossible right? We get nerfed when we're OP

  • So then that is even less reason for them to be doing this. If it doesn't matter at all, then why not allow continued Gear Ascension? Its just lazy on their part.

  • As bad as it sounds the ascension and absolute garbage weapons from HOW along with re rolling took away the excitement of getting these drops like fatebringer. I can almost guarantee you when TTK drops you're gonna be focused on obtaining and excited to obtain certain weapons that will bring a whole new level of fun to the game. Fatebringer is -blam!-ing awesome and I'm pretty upset but it's time to upgrade. Change is scary but typically when it's accepted it's more enjoyable and it's a more refined experience. Sometimes not. But we will see. Armor will be moving forward and all of our exotics will be ascendable, I'm okay with that knowing that there's gotta be something within these news set of weapons that will be the right weapon for me. My advice would be to keep an open mind, be upset like all of us but also be excited. There's so much more that they have talked about that makes it look like they're really headed in the right direction. Losing our weapons is a very risky thing for them to do but they feel it's necessary to improve the game. If it -blam!-s it all up maybe they will rethink it. They tell us to keep our gear because it may be useful still in certain ways but to me that silently says "keep your shit incase we change our minds"

  • Why divide your players? Why not give the option to do either? That's what separates a good game from a great game. Choices, and play style options that make 99% of the players happy. I've never seen hatred for a game designer like I have seen on these forums, and I've been gaming for nearly 20 years.
