If Xur is selling something that I need or something that I would like to have, I would buy it. Just now I bought the Warlock chest, but I would still prefer if he didn't sell this stuff in the first place. Xur defeats the purpose of RNG and even though you do not earn anything in RNG because it is random, things like Xur destroy that "feeling" you have when you are fairly rewarded.
This morning I saw Xur is selling the Bones of Eao. I got those boots after having the toughest Skola match I have ever had (it was my first Skolas fight without the burns and my third time overall, so I still didn't know the "right" strategy and having lightswitch on made things worse). They were actually the armor piece I was hoping to get, and it felt so good seeing them after I opened the chest. I got those boots because I beat Skolas and opened the chest. Now people will get them because they did some weekly strike. This is not right. Yes, I do agree that people who deserve to have them (and other items like the Gjallarhorn) should have them, but now people who haven't even done Skolas are going to get them. This is what bothers me. Xur has to go. The Gunsmith can sell the heavy ammo synthesis for the same price during weekends. Remove Xur or have him sell stuff that do not drop in Nightfalls or end game activities.

Are you retarded? Tons of people have beat skolas and tons of people have gotten these other places but skolas. Bones of Eoas isn't a drop restricted to endgame content. It's an exotic its RNG. Your lucky you even got those from skolas anyway because I didn't get shit. It's like saying xur shouldn't have sold celestial nighthawk because I earned it from my first helmet engram on the reef.
-
Some people believe that xur also helps the new players, get their first few exotics but also giving them something that they can use and learn how to play
-
At first I read your post and prepared to argue with logic and reasoning, but then I saw your name. Benzene? Do you know what that makes you? Carcinogenic. That's right, you're literally cancer.
-
Dude just shut up, first off those boots are garbage anyways, Dance Machines are better & that's not saying much. Second as long as I keep EARNING strange coins from running nightfall & weekly strike level 32 & Xur is selling something I want I'm buying it. You are just mad that you got them boots after hours of grinding trying to beat Skolas only to have Xur sell it a few days later for the low low price of 13 strange coins ha ha ha

Lmao.....you are the very definition of butt hurt.
-
Awww had them sinch dlc drop you not so special snowflake.
Did you know scientists performed a study on Destiny players and 79 percent of them were unable to say the opposite of these words in under 30 seconds: 1. Always 2. Coming 3. From 4. Take 5. Me 6. Down Let's see how smart the forum posters on Bungie.net are. Video link to the study: goo.gl/cj0WO6
You got your boots because you got lucky, not because you beat Skolas. You could've very well ended up with a legendary PoE elemental variant weapon. You earned -nothing- more than someone else who played some strikes, grinder content, etc. This argument is so tired. Basically, "I felt cool because I had these boots! Now others do, and I don't... :( :(" Get outta here with that.

If I am being 100% honest I think Xur does need to be there. But I think either his costs need to increase or the rarity of strange coins needs to increase. I do believe that exotics should be super rare and really hard to find. Having an exotic should be something special, and to be honest there are legendaries out there that are more coveted and harder to get because of how easy it is to find exotics. A piece of armor costs 13 strange coins, but any user with 3 characters is guaranteed 27 a week. How is that hard to get? His inventory should be expensive enough that you have to be selective with what you buy from him.

Sounds like a new take on the old Earned vs Xurned argument. Maybe you should stop worrying about what other people have, and how they got it and just play the game.
-
Keep Xur the way he is. He is there to help playes catch a break from RNG. Why can't ppl understand that.
-
Xur is here to bring a "balance" to the RNG.
-
He's destiny equivalent to a drug dealer IRL. Crackheads be on the lookout.

I can't believe how many people are crying about this. Get over it humans. I RNGed many many things, i have also purchased many many things. I don't care what Xur brings. I don't care who buys what. It does not matter to me... mostly because I'm an adult, and silly things like xur selling something i own but other people don't have is a dumb thing to be mad about. Xur=RNG relief. Sign if you want the OP removed
-
Glad he does because this RNG is crap and no one would ever get anything.
-
awww other people didnt have as tough a time gettin (item) as i did. that means this is breaking the game. if i bought icebreaker from xur, then it dropped for me on my next strike, which one did i "earn"? both......

Edited by Gooch_McGrundle: 8/7/2015 3:29:20 PMMany of the exotic rolls you can get in a week are only for exotic guns, the only exotic armor rolls im aware of are the PoE chest and night falls. Since those have such a large loot table to choose from it's a pretty diluted exotic armor roll. That's why I'm okay with Xur carrying so much exotic armor so often. However I wouldn't be opposed to the items being more expensive, especially since you can convert currencies now. Many players have an overwhelming amount of strange coins...

Random drops r random, doing skolas is irrelevant to getting the bones of eao
