In which case, since you are not interested in changing your perspective, that makes everything you said nothing more than your opinion which holds no real value here, since this thread is all about OUR opinion and how WE feel.

It does in the sense that I offer my own persepective. It's not like vog weapons were not weak when Crota came out, yet not much was said then, nor did it influence issues in the game. That said, even now we have weapons we never ascended, the damage drop isn't overall that relevant ( onlike vog to Crota where it seemed slightly more significant.). Honestly I hardly notice much of a difference when its a little under max, and while I dislike not having my fatebringer I do know by the end of year two I will most likely be able to ascend it again. Yet regardless, I understand your perspective, I am simply trying to point out that it won't be obsolete, simply not as strong overall as new raid weapons ( which regardless is rightful, though executed incorrectly.) What bungie should have done is let us ascend one weapon from year one had we done their bungie day crap, this for most would have been fatebringer or vision ( hard choice, I would have waited to see what the raid weapon was before making a choice) yet would at least offer A: a actual reward, but also B: a direct difference between each guardian, as some may pick black hammer, found, sword breaker, hunger, revenge, ect. So honestly I agree with you to a point, bit I don't feel that all weapons should of ascended at once. For example, if the new raid on hard had a exotic drop that let us ascend old gear I would have far more initiative to finish off the raid every week with three characters in order to ascend my favorite weapons, yet regardless said drop would need a exotic rarity/ possible quest for each gun to give us at least some form of possibility. Regardless one weapon ascend would be fair. Keep in mind I am fine that it isn't happening, I will again grind on my free time and have fun with my crew. Yet this itself is only saying I am not mad, not that I wouldn't want to ascend weapons.

No offense, but your own perspective isn't something that those of us aren't already aware about. Having "perspective" is not something we lack. It is the logical conclusion that we have reached which is what we are talking about. Logical Conclusion 1: Year 1 was a waste of time if Gear Ascension is not continued. 2: Year 1 Weapons and Armor will be rendered obsolete because of this if you cannot further ascend them. 3: No one will still keep using old weapons or armor if there are new ones that offer more damage and more armor rating, so what DeeJ said about old gear having a place with old content is just insulting to us. 4: We spent $100 and have nothing to actually show for it if this actually is allowed to happen. 5: If this is allowed to happen, it means Bungie can just as easily keep on doing it and continuing to invalidate the time and effort players spend investing in the game, meaning there is no longer any reason to justify anyone actually playing the game or sticking with the franchise at this point.

Agreed. Might as well wait 9 year, buy the Hyper Ultra Collector's Edition and get everything all at once. All you will have missed out on is a couple of lame shaders and emblems

Guns and weapons become useless in just about any game where level/attack effect a weapon. Those games do just fine. As the person above stated games like borderlands guns become even more obsolete in that game, a level one legendary is nothing compared to a level 72 op 8 gun. Yet this does not hinder the game in anyway, on the contrary it lasted longer because of this very idea. Difference is the guns in that game literally became useless when to low a level, unlike in this game where they are simply weaker then other guns. Once again vog weapons were weak when Crota came out, it was not until recently that we could ascend them, yet it was hardly a issue then, very few complained about it.

Edited by Malphisto: 8/7/2015 11:57:53 AMYou're just being argumentative now. There is a difference between giving your perspective and trying to force your point of view onto others. You have already spoken your piece. I could continue to debate you on what you are saying, but as I have already beaten that point over and over again with others I feel no reason to keep doing so. Be respectful and accept that not everyone agrees with or thinks the same way as you.

I already stated I understand your point of view, and even stated that they should have had away to ascend things did I not? My only statements are that it will not hinder the game, nor is it abnormal for games to do this ( not ascend) thus we cannot even call it a argument. So now I am drastically confused on where you are picking up the idea of a argument when I did infact agree with you to a point. I respected your ideals, and even offered away they could allow as to ascend material, without overall handing it to us like they did with poe ( which is honestly far to easy). Possibly if you reread my statements you will notice that I had agreed, yet also derailed the argument by stating that it is typical for games of this nature to exclude guns overtime ( as explained with borderlands.)
