It has max stability making it perfect for people who can't compensate for recoil and it kills in 2 bursts to the head. I've tried it before and it certainly wasn't my cup of tea, but I can see why people use it. Same reason people use thorn, really quick ttk that requires extremely little skill to use effectively.

For me the Thorn bounty was a challenge and I think that the reward is appropriately very powerful

Well the void kills part (which I assume you're referring to) requires you to keep a pretty low kd. I got it done in 3 hours of crucible with a NLB, Void matador (no rangefinder or shot package) and void BTRD. It really isn't that hard. I was even a hunter so all my kills were from heavy and low range shotgun. And the Xyor strike is really easy as well. Bad Juju required you to grind 25 strikes which took forever, about the same amount of time as the void kills if not more. Yet it isn't OP and 2 shots.

Don't do 25. Do nightfalls or heroics, former is 3 and latter is 2. I just helped friends out and had it in an hour or so.
