How do you feel about the slew of Auto Rifles that will never be even remotely useful because they existed between the nerf and ttk?

  • Most weren't that good, though that was the fault of the developer. There were like...two? Yeah, two. Two of the Auto Rifles that came out with House of Wolves I felt were actually pretty good and am holding onto them. I went through and got all the Legendary weapons from House of Wolves and Dark Below and personally tested them each in actual combat situations. I found most to be either not my kind of thing (not fitting into my personal play style) or just didn't feel right. They didn't stand out in any way, besides the whole "Max Damage" aspect which I felt was a poor excuse to replace what I already had. Perfect example, when Dark Below rolled out they tried doing the same thing that they are doing in TTK. I played for like a week or so, got the weapons I thought were good and put them to the test. But they weren't as good, their attributes were horrible by comparison. Perfect example, the previous Vanguard Sold "Devil You Know" versus the Dark Below Vanguard Sold "Devil You Don't Know" which had a considerably reduced Mag Size and just overall horrible perks/stats. The ONLY thing it had going for it was an increased Max Damage, which I thought was stupid. They basically tried to render all the old weapons obsolete by introducing new, more "powerful" weapons by ones that ultimately had shitty designs and craptastic handling/attributes. I believe it should be all about player choice. If they feel confident enough that their new weapons are good and deserve a place in a player's arsenal, then no worries. Players will naturally, on their own go out and acquire said weapons and use them as desired. But they shouldn't FORCE that upgrade on them. Some players will want to keep using an old weapon for other reasons, like personal attachment or how the weapon looks/feels/works for them. Take me for example, my primary of choice is the Red Hand IX, the original version only acquired through random reward upon ranking up New Monarchy. I absolutely love this gun and it took me many...MANY weeks of grinding to get. Its beautiful, a masterpiece and while I still use PLENTY of other Primary Weapons, I will always keep this one as it is apart of my character and matches my Warlock's shader, the God of War.
