MMO means massive multiplayer online. Destiny is a massive multiplayer game played online.

Dude that is dumb, by that standard CoD would also be an MMO, as well as any other multiplayer game online.

Actually MAG on PS3 was considered an MMO, that was 128 players in a match. Shooters can be MMO's. Think people are confusing MMO with MMORPG. I think it would be safer to say Destiny hold some resemblance to MMORPG's in the sense of gear options, skill tree, and small party raid content.
