I agree with your first point man I was just thinking about that last night. When I played WoW phasing out my old gear with each expansion didn't really bother me because the gear had nothing to do with the "feel" of my character. It was all about the stats. However in destiny each weapon truly does feel rather unique, it's different from other mmo's in this respect
