1: VOG and CE weapons are not too powerful, nor end all. Watch as I amaze you! WELCOME TO MALPHISTO'S GUNSMITH SHOP! Name: The Dawn Breaker Quality: Legendary Weapon Class: Hand Cannon Ammo Type: SOLAR Damage Rate of Fire: 22 Impact: 81 Range: 40 Stability: 30 Reload: 30 Mag Size: 10 Special Perk: "Dawn Breaker"- Shots set enemies on fire, similar to Warlock Sunsinger Scorch Melee Ability. You get the point. All it requires is creativity. I'm a developer, its not all that hard to design new concepts or come up with creative ideas for new weapons/armor/content in general that can progress the game without a need for having to scrap old stuff. 2: The old gear is only "better" because Bungie apparently fails at weapon design. Their art team is great, don't get me wrong. But I think a great example of what I'm getting at is the "Devil You Know" compared to the "Devil You Don't Know" which was just shitty all across the board. No new perks introduced, all the attributes were garbage. The only thing that changes with new weapons seems to be the Damage Values, which is stupidly lazy. This is an FPS game, people are going to judge guns based on their attributes, perks, various features and whether or not they offer Solar, Arc or Void Damage. There's no end to the potential for possible new weapons that can easily hold value for many if not ALL players in the game, but it boils down to the devs simply not wanting to do so. Its the epitome of lazy. They gotta be really insecure about their new weapons to try and force players to trade up everything. 3: We don't HAVE to move on at all. If they want to dick people over like this, many will just leave like we did last time. It wasn't that people were whining, its the fact that so many players had quit the game because of shit like this. Then House of Wolves showed up and one of the major selling points was the Etheric Light, the picture of a Fatebringer going up to 365 DMG. And it worked, it got a LOT of people to come back. But now they are going to screw around a second time and try to bend us over backwards? Hell no, not happening again. I could care less how badly it hurts the game and puts them in hot water with Activision. Gamers are the customers. Gear Ascension doesn't bother anyone and no one can present a solid argument for why it shouldn't still be allowed going forward. And at the end of the day? It all boils down to our personal opinions. MANY people are of the same opinion that Gear Ascension should continue, because anything otherwise is total disrespect for those who grinded through Year 1. No one can dictate how we should or shouldn't feel. And if they go through with this? And decide down the road in a DLC to try another version of Etheric Light? Sorry, but by that time other games will have come out and those who left out of disgust will be gone for good. Its not as if there is an endless supply of players, if this kind of shit keeps up and people keep leaving, Destiny will not reach 10 years and the game will crash and burn like so many others have.

 • Well said. It's not my fault they can't be creative and make new guns comparable to year one. To force us to use year 2 guns just because they couldn't balance year one is not my fault either. Hell you can go on the forums and figure out in a few minutes what guns are OP and even some fairly good suggestions to fix the problems. But no Bungie is going to wait for year 2 to drop before they address the year 1 problems. It makes no sense to me at all. Fix what's already broken before you start adding new content to tip the balance even more.
