Yes the choice is so personal now. I mean there's so much diversity now. That guy has fatebringer, Blackhammer, Ghorn. That guy has Fatebringer, Blackhammer, ghorn, that guy has.... Fatebringer, blackhammer, Ghorn. Wait everybody's using the same shit. Guess it are all stat sticks as well.

Edited by Queeg 500: 8/6/2015 8:33:42 AMI have all those weapons, I use plenty of variety. And so what if people like using those weapons, who are you to judge what people enjoy??
-
Me too. I ain't judging people for using them. I'm judging the OP's reasoning that weapon choice is so much more personal in FPS games while the majority just uses the best weapons like in any mmo anyway.

I think "Best" is subjective. I do better with my Messenger than I do my Last Word, but a ton of people would chose Last Word for their playstyle. Likewise, I prefer my Praedyth's Revenge for PvP, while my Trials mates prefer their LDRs. Neither is necessarily "better," though.

I see, my mistake.

Edited by AttilaTheNvn: 8/6/2015 8:23:02 AMYou can balance specific weapons without leaving entire eras of gear behind. And they're already balancing things pretty seriously in 2.0, so it would be pretty strange if they go through all the trouble of nerfing gear that is already going to be left behind... So I'm still hopefull that our gear will have a way to stay current, at some point.

Bungie probably just wants people to use their new weapons in stead of their first set of weapons for 10 years. You'll still be able to use them in crucible and the old raids. For newer higher level content you'll need newer higher level weapons. Sound logical to me. Something better than the weapons we have now is bound to show up. The old weapons will be nice memories of the first year.
