REC Horror movies generally bore me senseless. But REC didn't pull all the crap that usually happens in Hollywood horrors. It is more of a thriller than a horror, though. Still, the best of the genre I've seen. Grave Encounters and the first Paranormal Activity are also good films.

That one scary movie where these people we're stuck in a mansion, and they were being stalked by a giant black thing... It was parodied by the Scary Movie series. And Graveyard Encounters 1 & 2, the only scary movies I literally remember watching at a later age instead of watching movies at such a young age.
